Khalpat
I am just noting down some classics which are underrated Satyakaam , starring Dharmendra and Sanjeev Kumar. The fight between being practical and being honest of 60s when the heart and head of Indian youth said different narratives about corruption.Brilliant story, Direction and acting by Sharmila along with heroes Mere Apne, this movie should not be known only for "Shyaam aaye to kehna chenu aaya tha" but also depicting the unemployment problem of 70s along with Meena Kumari's great performance. Mother India, the movie which showed every aspect of India's village life with all characters from Lala to Sunil Dutt as bad boy to of course Nargis presenting us the glimpses of India during 50s. Straight Drive
Prem Rog One of the longest Bollywood movie. And yet another RK film. Padmini Kolhapur gets most of the main role as Manorama. Rishi and Shammi Kapoor also star in it. The story is about Rishi Kapoor falling in love with childhood friend Manorama. It disappointed as far as songs of those times were concerned. Movie is good enough but not too good. Nothing special about watching it twice. Music has been given by famous duo of Lamikant - Pyarelal. Edited September 14, 2019 by Straight Drive
I6MTW
Underrated/underperformed films that haven't got enough credit: Masoom (very underrated movie, with realistic touches and performances, nice music as well.) Guide(rated highly but underperformed, possibly one of the best Indian movies) Pyaasa(same as above) Naya Daur Anand(one of the best indian movies of all time , deserves more praise) Maachis(one of the most underrated movies of the 90s) Satya Sarfarosh Aankhen(the 2000s one starring Amitabh Bachchan, not the govinda one) Dil Chahta Hai(one of my fav movies, fun to watch, feel good movie, a trendsetter in Indian cinema). Swades(huge disappointment at the box office, but truly the best SRK film till date.) jf1gp_1

Straight Drive
Loafer Dharmendra, Mumtaz, Om Prakash, Keshto Dharmendra as "Ranjit" gets to know "Uncle" while fleeing after pushing a school mate to death in a scuffle. He continues working in club named "Playboy" Rival gangster Pratap (Prem Nath) uses Rakesh's sister Anju(Mumtaz) to make lure Ranjit in love so that she can free his brother Rakesh who is kept locked in Prataps house. Anju falls in true love and somehow Dharmendra manages to free Rakesh as well. In the end Rabbit is arrested for the theft of jewellery and his true identity is revealed to Om Prakash and his daughter. Yet another good performance by Mumtaz in her peak years. Famous dialogues - Zooth bolne ki koshish ki to main tera khoon pi jaunga. Tumhare kutto see kaho khilone she khela Kare Mai to Agra ka Taj Mahal bhi kharidna Chahta hu lekin koi bechta hi nani hai. Hamari billi aur humise meow Hit Songs - Koi sahri babu Aaj mausaam bada, beimaan hai bada, beimaan hai aaj mausam. The movie is worth watching and was a hit. Quite an underrated movie and a pretty good one. Very under rated movie. In my books, one of Amitabh's best works. Shabhana Azmi too essayed her role quite well. And at that time, it was very socially relevant. Another movie of the same genre that I like is " Albert Pinto ko gussa kyu aata hai" Most people nowadays dismiss this genre by calling it 'leftist' influenced cinema. But strong thought provoking cinema it is.
