By the looks of it, he had the permission from the top leadership of Congress. Congress wants Paks help next year to dislodge BJP.There’s reason why Pappu recently revoked the suspension of Mani Shankar Aiyyar, a known Pak sympathiser....Congress desperately needs Pak Army support to arrange few attacks on India by 2019 general elections to put BJP on defensive. It doesn’t has any other issues to corner BJP. Congress banks heavily on China & Pakistan to help it out in the next elections. Leaving aside Sidhu, who is a nobody in the Indian political sphere but here you have the Pm of India who has bashed Pakistan and yet goes on to give bear hugs to your counterpart. Sidhu may speak in hyperboles but that's what he claimed regarding the hug. No one's claiming that giving hugs will change the standoff between India and Pakistan and neither will Modi hugging Pm of Pakistan will change that either. So when Modi hugs the Pm of your enemy state, is that more important than your country's pride in Army who are killed throughout the year? Poor soldiers are mere pawns and sitting ducks at the mercy of politicians. Indians have overblown this issue and made a self goal with all the media coverage, politicians overreacting , and to make matters worse groups like Bajrang Dal giving fatwas for the head of Sidhu. Best was to simply ignore all this and not give any coverage. Furthermore, Indians and the media want to talk about country's pride and honoring the Army? If Indians are really that concerned about Pakistan, then they should ban everything Pakistani. Well Indians should first look at India Pakistan trade is the billions of dollars. Money which eventually trickles down to funding the 'enemy' state and Army which kills the Indian soldiers .
