jadeja has improved too. I repeat this side will not miss Panyda's wickets.

in one innings u decided that when he got the best batting condition in whole series and when opp bowlers also are fatigued with long series + stokes is not 100%

Bowling is not our problem. Not in SA and certainly not in England. No team can win if their Batsmen can only score 300 2 times out of 9 :winky:

people wanting to boost our batting

why dnt u play Chahar , thakur or some trundler with batting abilities so ur batting becomes long and they arent over burdened to loose their pace

why to break bumrah, shami, ishant ........once u break them they ll also become trundlers. So instead go for them who has batting ability

So with the best batting conditions, Rahane scored 0 and all our batsmen (Except newbie Vihari) failed t0 score even 140

Thats not an apt analogy. Neither Warne is a batsman as good as Jadeja, Nor Jadeja is an ATG spinner like Warne.

The point is that neither of them are genuine ARs. They are chosen for their primary skills. If Jadeja did not pick up 4 wkts, the runs that he scored would not hold his place in the long term .... See how Ashwin became an enemy after one spell

I support Pandya because he has potential. He is in his first season so am not harsh on him. He has come up with match winning performances. Has the best avg difference in sub con and wins for Ind since he made his debut .... Pandya also decreases work load of pace bowlers

if  we had excellent 5 batsmen (avg 45-55)  and someone with 40-45 batting avg in the reserve, then you can increase your batting strength. You can NOT replace Pandya with an Aakash Chopra like specialist [emoji38] and when other specialist batsmen in the line up avg in 20s-30s .... in subcon, Pandya’s batting avg is 60+

With the current s&w, best way we can compete is by bowling the opposition out quickly
If top 5 are in very good form then u can have pandya. I don't mind pandya coming in at 250/4 or 300/4. But now it is 100/4 and pandya in that scorecard does not give any confidence. Our top 5 are struggling and we have strengthen the batting. Having someone like Vihari ( who has FC average of more than 50) will help like it did in this test.

Ideal world this works. But 100/4 with Pandya/Bhuvi , Pant and Jadeja does not give any confidence.

Vijay Shankar looks decent. Maybe we can try him if fast bowling allrounder is the only type of allrounder we need

Cant't play 3 pacers on the flat tracks in Australia

Should try Shankar against WI to get him ready

Pandya can work on flat tracks

so were u deniel till now that rahane is struggling, someone who is out of form will struggle everywhere. He was even struggling at home

vihari credit to him but rode his luck lets not deny that to

Rahul n pujara, virat threw wkts

Dhawan is grabage

We won because of Pandya’s spell .... and he avgs 60+ with the bat in subcon like conditions so should do relatively well in Aus where the ball does not move as much as in Eng

If Jadeja does not contribute with the bat, he will find it hard to retail his place in the long run. So there is no point in putting additional pressure on him by labeling him as an AR. We know what happened to Ashwin when he failed in his primary dept in the last test

if you want to play Jadeja, better option is to suggest that you want to go in with 5 bowlers, which has its own merits and demerits :winky:

Ashwin is not targeted for that 1 spell. He has miserably failed in what, 15 tests? outside Subcontinent/ Caribbean. And when he was gifted a Chennai dustbowl in Southampton, he went into hiding (Some are even saying he was carrying an injury, which is criminal).

forget Jadeja, I'm talking about Pandya coming in at 4 down. an act of self-harm.

Actually pandya shud play home series coz he needs some confidence with bat, we dnt want a situtaion that he only plays in SENA n his avg start creeping self beilef . Also his pace wud be better in Indian conditions

Then m not sure about NZ-A tour timelines, or else ill want both to go their

If pandya batting scares me in Aus, so does shankar bowling .

Who is in denial? Rahane has been awful in this series. Like Kohli was in 2014. But out of Sharma/ Dhawan/ Rahul, Rahane has the most chances of scoring in Australia. He already scored in 2014. And his technique is suited for bounce and pace (unlike swing and spin).

Again we need a batting allrounder not a bowling allrounder. The priority is to strengthen batting and next comes helping the bowlers.

What is the batting FC average of chahar, thakur.

So i hve said travel with both pandya n shankar overseas so many times

Pandya bowling is miles ahead of shankar, n shankar is a better batsman

I dnt knw but both has more batting ability then shami, ishant, bumrah

You should not play struggling batsmen in the first place. If 100/4 is the problem, we have to optimize the batting so we can make it 100/2 or 250/4

If horses are running like donkeys, you do not win a race by adding more horses who run like donkeys. To win the race, you have to have horses that run like horses

Pandya is not a problem atm

In this form lets not be so sure, he is low on confidence
