Team India is having a major issue with their opening pair as they haven't come good in the last two Tests. Openers KL Rahul and Murali Vijay failed badly in the first two Tests and couldn't survive the important first hour, and with the lower order also not adding runs, Indian middle order was left to do too much of scoring in Perth.

 

Indian bowlers aren't getting much support from the batters. One of the main reason is the batsman not delivering in their role.

 

Virat Kohli and side are desperate to see their batting unit taking a step forward in the last two Tests if they want to make history by winning their first Test series in Australia.

 

India has lost Prithvi Shaw to an injury, who was supposed to be India's first choice for the opening spot. He won't be part of the remaining games and India has called Mayank Agarwal as his replacement. 

 

The third Test is in Melbourne Cricket Ground and before the game, a report of The Mumbai Mirror suggested Shikhar Dhawan could come back in the Indian Test team. As per the report, he was spotted with his kit bag in the team hotel. Albeit no BCCI official has confirmed that he will be included in the side.

 

Shikhar might have come to practice with the team as he is in Australia with his family. 

 

The series has got everything which needs to keep it heated. From on-field banters to off-field comments from veteran cricketers, the words have hyped up the series really well. Not only the words, the contest of bat and ball has also been good enough to attract the fans.
