Just because you can hurl something down the pitch at 140 kmph does not make someone a bowler. There is quiet a bit more to it. His supporters show their blind ignorance when they quote his speed. Since Aaron bowls at 150 he should be ahead of everyone. Lee was a better bowler than McGrath and aaron is better than Steyn. Makes perfect sense. Link to comment

There is no such thing as allrounders as it is just not possible to develope those. India has done fine without Pandya. Pandya is overhyped bits and pieces player who has shown no improvement even after playing for couple of years. People were comparing this guy with Kapil Dev. Kapil in his first 12 months went from being night watchmen to no6 batsmen and 100 wickets in his first 25 tests. Kapil could walk into team as a bowler alone, his batting was plus. Kapil Dev had ability like noone else, he had uncanny knack of rising to occassion when his other batsmen failed.He is reason why Second tied test happened, he could score 129 with single hand against rampaging Donald when none of top could pass double digit score. People talk about his stats with bat but he was bit like Viv Richards who never cared about stats but was more interested in getting the job done.He is 100 times better with batsman than that overrated Imran Khan. Has Pandya shown that improvement, answer is no. They are better off without these players but guys like these are so enticing to any team management that even worthless guys like Binny get to become test cricketers.Mitchell Marsh is another guy . No, in era of 2 new balls, its bits and piece like players are needed at 6, 7, 8. Ones who have pottential to score a fifty but have decent SR. Pandya is one of such players. I do not have access to Indian domestic league but if there are similar, we should choose any based on performance and quality. Link to comment
