Will "Ro-Dho" make opposition fans cry, or their own, this WC?

What if he flops in the IPL as well? He should be in the top 3 for sure, but why not open with KL if one or both openers are flopping consistently?

Not this bad a rut.

Still go with Dhawan, IPL is a t20 format n we knw its not his format

Rahul hasnt even been able to establish himself in ODI, change shud come if he fails few games in WC

It's not confirmed yet but the WC could be played with white dukes, just like 1999 IIRC.

Yuvraj was injured in the SA series, also we played that one at home.

Yuvraj was struggling for few yrs then and he did play in SA

Yes the pitches were like the worst ever, but it helped us marginally in SA. I say marginally because we were crushed by Aus twice, on a road at Joburg & relatively flat pitch at Centurion.

ENG pitches wud be patta

Form is just a matter of one inning

yuvi was not in form before 2011 Wc

Dhawan - out of form before 2015WC n 2017CT ....infact was in way worst form

Indian bating was in horrible form before 2003 Wc due to NZ 2002 tour

Good points .... but not apples to apples as some of the batsmen were in their prime, while conditions in NZ (away) were bowling friendly iirc (green pitches and all where Ganguly said cows could graize here)

Here the guys appear to have regressed and our failing on relatively good pitches :((

The point is a struggling batter will likely struggle in WC as well. As it is his chances are at best 50/50 in the WC with this form, if it deteriorates further in the IPL IMO he'll do worse than what he did in 2015 WC or 2017 CT for sure.

As for KL - who's fault is it that we haven't seen past the likes of Dhoni or Rayudu to establish the likes of KL or Pant in this team? Why don't you name Kohli here? KL scored a hundred in T20 in England, gets a duck & is dropped for the entire ODI series?

How do you suppose you'll perform if you have a sword dangling over your head at work all the time? Sure you  can bring tests in here but no opener did well consistently in 2018, because of the spiced up pitches.

These days most piTches in ODI but doesnt mean they cant fail......every cricket will have failures . This has happened to them before and they have come out of it

issue will be if this continues in middle of WC....then we can think of change

Why do you keep saying that? WC will not have different rules. I understand if you say a player is good fit for a certain condition or will do well against a certain team, have some science behind this but I find it stupid when someone says oh it is ICC World Cup, Dhawan will suck till then but miraculously will start hitting 100s.

Look it might still happen but that will be because Dhawan finding form but you cannot carry a guy who has been failing for a long time saying that he will do well in a tournament that he did well before. That is dumb. That is unfair to the others who have been performing at all levels waiting for a shot and a chance to prove themselves.

When the world cup comes fielder at point will drop the catch , since it is world cup, Sir Dhawan has the right to click in the ICC tournament lol

Finch was scratching his balls until this match. Teams will continue backing their main players. Testing Gill, Shaw, Agarwal should have been done a year back. Not now. They were pointlessly playing Gambhir, Yuvraj, Raina, Karthik now Rayudu over the last few years. Rayudu is such a low class batsman. Will struggle to find a place even in Bangladesh team. SOmehow playing in our team. Vijay shankar who bats at 6 or 7 for his state , plays better at no.4 than this guy. That explains what a pathetic batsman he is.
