For e.g.: KL vs MI (was lucky that Pollard brought in Pandya). Was sluggish till that point Universe Boss vs RCB de Kock vs RR and so on If that is the case, a) the pitches at many of the venues could be slowing down as the tourney progresses, so scoring rate in the first 10 overs is important. Teams should make more efforts to get to 100+ in the first 10 b) On good batting wickets, ideally, unlike what is conventionally thought, you do not want the batsman to keep carrying on unless he can get the big hits going. But you want more batsmen in the 11 that can play 25 balls or so consistently at a high SR .... or continue to push on, so if they have played around 60 balls for e.g., they are 100+ or so Discuss.

SK_IH Posted April 13, 2019 Posted April 13, 2019 I think it's about uncertainty what's a good score batting first. With placid pitches, run of the mill bowlers, chasing becomes a huge advantage.

Therefore, even set batsmen who continuously attacks a leggie will eventually get outfoxed by the leggie The days of Amit Mishra's 2 for 60 are gone nowadays in IPL most leggies rarely concede more than 35 and always take 1 or 2 wkts nevada 1
