My assessment is also based on personal experience. People in North are by and large respecting and chill ( better than Tamils) . Most likely, will surprise you with their niceness and accomodating nature as I think, you are having very limited experience.

Just met a guy from Guntur living in Noida from 2 yrs. Enjoying hospitality and food here amongst other good factors.

No one is shoving anything. It is Tamil folks' imagination so that...I don't know... they can behave badly with hindi speaking folks in Chennai...

lol anecdotes , moron do you realise there would be million other anecdotes from others ? talk based on facts.

its a choice Kannadigas will make, once they make it they need to stick to it and accept the consequences.

I fully agree. The recent situation here is lot of schools don't even have Kannada as a subject in their curriculum. If you visit banks in rural areas, not even a single person speaks in Kannada and they are servicing rural side people. The leaders we have in BJP and Congress are just mere puppets controlled by their Hindi masters. The only regional party we have is JDS and it's a caste based political party.

Thats mainly cos no one takes banking jobs in south anymore , the new gen all took IT jobs and backfiill for past few years was pre-dominantly northies . This has little to do with BJP/Congress

:hatsoff:this when entire india including Bengal telengana Orissa voted more than ever for decisively better alliance. Tamils on the hand voted for anti Hindu alliance which wants to keep India divided and weak.

if that's your grouse  then term it as such. its politics, not some cultural war as your piss poor attempt here tries to make it to be.

in theory west India is better than south in many statistics. Goa, Maharashtra and Gujatat...

Mumbai and Pune economy is mostly run by immigrants. Sorry for the stereotype but

The white collar jobs are mostly from South Indians, the blue collar workers are UP-Bihari bhayyas and also Oriyas. The trade is run by Gujjus.

Most locals are occupied in admin type jobs.

Now obviously the filthy rich and the poor don’t pay taxes. So the white collar middle class folk are the ones that generate taxes. South :hatsoff:

For that, you have to respect the local sentiment. As soon as NDA came into power, they started painting milestones in Hindi, removing either Tamil or English. Then the self proclamation that Sanskrit is the greatest language on earth BS :giggle:...then the cow vigilantism..

Half way through his tenure, Modi realised that this isn’t going to work in TN...He started his opening lines of speeches in Tamil, appreciated the language, quoted thirukkural, etc. If he were narrow minded like you he wouldn’t have won a seat in Bengal today. There is a saying in Tamil “Aadra maata aadi karakkanum, paadra maata paadi karakanum” - Means “in order to milk a cow, you need to go in it’s own way - otherwise you won’t get any” and he’s abiding by that, instead of creating unnecessary alapparai (ruckus). A more relatable proverb to all the hot headed Naarthies here.

this is a very good post.

dim *s like this one will * this up. Its important for BJP to make silent inroads into TN and its already happening.

@randomGuy are you thick in your head?

A guy like Jagan as evil as he is in terms of corruption wins because he reaches out to the masses and connects with them.

Same goes for Smriti Irani who connected to the people a lot more than Rahul gandhi.

Add to that the political machinery putting their resources behind winning something significant.

DMK did the ground work and they won, just like BJP focused and chipped away at North East and Bengal this time. This has nothing to do with people getting an enlightenment. and start voting for Modi.

You are now clearly using this as a way to rant and show your bias

To be honest Language based politics is not huge in the south apart from Tamil Nadu and these days in Karnataka. Maharashtra and Tamil nadu  have been notorious in using that.  Karnataka has caught up.

This is not a new phenomenon :hmmmm2: am I missing something?

For what joy ?

Karnataka needs good leaders which it lacks , a regional party will make no difference . The regional parties will just have a language agenda ( May chase all the Tamils back to TN , if thats what you want lol ) .

KA is more aligned with the country, the whole Dravidian BS has not gained much for TN, KA is better off with one of the national parties.

its a politician with a political agenda making a statement. However there is nothing wrong with the overall tag line in the topic of this thread. So not sure why people are even debating it.

As far as languages go I think South Indian languages are a derivation of Sanskrit and Tamil 2 ancient sister languages of this land where as Hindi  has influence of Sanskrit, Pali and even some Persian etc. sounds similar to Urdu which has stench of foreign invasion all over. Hindi reminds me of 1000 saal ki ghulami.

I propose Telugu to be the national language. 2nd most spoken language in India. Pure chaste Telugu and not the Telangana kind with its Nizam-Urdu influence reminiscent of dark days.

Telugu is pure derivation of Sanskrit and also some Tamil words. So very good blend. Once called the “Italian of the east” by a famous language scholar.

Yep. Telugu it is.

Bengali says :wavey:

Have heard from more than one northie (senior director levels) that the reason for IT industry flourishing in Bangalore is more so because of the accommodating nature of kannadigas.

Personally I feel it's more due to the climate & talent pool from defence industries.
