Growth is never possible without CAPEX which requires investment either as debt or equity.

If you don't have equity, then all you can do is to borrow. Key is to borrow for genuine projects which will pay off through a solid revenue stream.

Suppose, for a Country X, major import cost is fuel. By improving infrastructure it estimates that the fuel import bill will curtail by 10% per annum.

Point being will that saving across 6 year (debt period) be enough to repay the interest and principle amount? Another interesting thing is, how accurately can one assume that the savings will be more or less 10%.

On the contrary side of argument, there might be other benefits as well such as industry set-up due to infrastructure availability thus increase in productivity and output.

Wise words, Moeed Yusuf should hire you right away.  Btw, what's your take on the power plants and future revenue agreements signed with Chinese companies under the CPEC umbrella - prima facie, it looks like the deals were designed to lock in chinese profits, and justified on the Pak side based on way overly rosy projections of economic growth.   Its standard corruption MO for politicians worldwide, not just in Pakistan.  Even India had similar deals in the past - see Enron's contract in Maharashtra for example.

Interest rates are very low for the chinese loans which is something positive (well negotiated by PML-N govt.)

Infrastructure development is generally welcomed since it reduces different costs and increases opportunities for revenue. Certain projects such as Lahore-Sialkot-Rawalpindi motorway are beneficial in long-term as these cities are industrial hubs and produce massive outputs for domestic consumption across Pakistan (from sanitary to steel products). E-35 expressway project gives opportunities to areas like Mansehra, Battal etc. with tourism potential as well.

For overall development and plan, you have to identify your strengths and core competencies eg. Balochistan has natural raw materials and land availability. Now the thing is you need to evaluate how you can add value through competencies and which international market or domestic "market gaps" can be filled in through those competencies (increasing exports and reducing exports).

For instance, you can manufacture product X, Y and Z (using competencies identified) which are currently being imported, provided you take debt for import of P&M, Infrastructure etc.

However there are many more challenges to this indirectly including culture, skilled labour and productivity, security etc.

Another basic issue is that we have not actually identified our competencies, we have not done enough R&D to evaluate what areas like Interior Sindh, Balochistan or even KPK bring to the table differently.

Pakistan's problems since PTI took over have been economic mis-management, they don't know how to align things and are cursed with dysfunctional decision making. Massive increases in energy costs and devaluation have demoralized large scale manufacturing, all the "growth projections" have been reversed. Ideally before even thinking about devaluation, they should have created import alternatives. PTI has given "tax targets" to FBR which are unrealistic and this has lead to FBR giving bamboo to current tax payers rather than expanding tax base. Government is absolutely inept and has no clue how behavioral impacts work. God knows what their economic KPIs are.

In an ideal coherent scenario, Pakistan needs to think what it is uniquely good at and emphasize on development of those competencies for ultimate export targets. If it drifts away and invests blindly without a plan, purpose or vision, sustainable growth will not be possible.

A decade ago, you would see both the theories and their debunking videos and articles have equal patronage in google and youtube. Ever since the big conglomerates made the decision to censor certain sites a few years ago, the usual conspiracy videos are unavailable or hard to get. Only TPTB controlled conspiracy videos are there. Nowadays, you have to add additional items in search and sift through many pages to find the actual video/article you were looking for. Thats why I think David Icke and alex jones are disinfo agents working for the elite.

Search for moon landing is fake on youtube, you would find debunking videos on top. 10 years ago, you would find all the evidence whether sh1tty or not of moon landings being fake coming from individual researchers. Up until a few years ago, the channels that I've been following were shut down or the guys harassed on the internet by bots or paid trolls. Come on let us have the other side of the argument and post their videos too FFS.

Somehow they knew that the conspiracy theorists are right on a few things. That's why the need for censorship. All TV is controlled by a few big conglomerates. That's why youtube and google gained popularity. Now they are also censored. Good luck to the future generations. They will live in the brave new world without any critical thinking abilities. I thought I was not that smart when I was growing up. Now I feel pity on the next generation. This video I saw on whatsapp came with a warning "watch it before it gets censored". It may get censored and everyone will go about their business after this is done.

If Bill Gates has his way, get ready to have your ass micro-chipped.

The question of which businesses should keep going is tricky. Certainly food supply and the health system. We still need water, electricity and the internet. Supply chains for critical things need to be maintained. Countries are still figuring out what to keep running.

Eventually we will have some digital certificates to show who has recovered or been tested recently or when we have a vaccine who has received it.

@Jimmy Cliff Now it's confirmed. Check out building 7 demolition. Where are the airplanes? How did it fall like that? 9/11 is an inside job, just that US is way too powerful that have total control over the narrative.

They say it fell because of the "office furnishing fires". You've seen this video? He is one of the sensible & non-hysterical 9/11 skeptics out there.

@Real McCoy  did you see this? Regime change coming up in China? :p:

Nothing will happen  These guys are just to pad the average american's ego and show fake humanitarianism. Ever since americans stopped watching tv and news, they have infiltrated into radio shows and youtube with the same sh1t. He says kissinger took money from the CCP. I think they are all in on it.
