Virtue Signaling is basically a term which became popular about 5 years ago in SM. It is about the fake hashtag activism in SM, just by mere show of care/political stance, proves how passionate you are about it, without having had to do anything. Like buying a ugly looking Prius to show hoe environmental conscious you are.  This video explains it much better in 2 mins.

 

 

Talking in our context, with a lot of political stance against Pakistan in our forum, against their support of terrorism in India, if one of us wants to show how better they are by saying Pakistan is a wonderful country" is being self-righteous, fake  and vain. Flag bearers of AmanKiAasha when there is no reciprocation from across the border of any kind, is showing off how viryuous and open-minded you are to others. It works even in case of vegans (PETA) preaching Hindus to care for cows on RakshaBandhan day.
 

In a similar show of political stance which can be easily construed as fake is being Woke. Woke is about show of some political stance that is currently trending, just for the imagery and perception of being aware with conscience about Social Justice and Racial Justice. BLM activism by 'white' folk, hug an 'Asian' campaign in Italy are all examples of Woke people.  Initially, it was made popular by leftists and activists to rise up and gain popular support for their cause . But, these days, it has become a phrase to mock left political stances like 'toxic masculinity', LGBTQRSTUWXYZ rights, Support for Trans using female toilets issues, Trans perps wanting to be in jails for females, the world is a lot more messy now than ever with people being WOKE!

 

Cancel Culture is again a Communist/Left idea where an idea needs to dead and buried by censuring it from public glare. Banning of books, Cancelling shows that are offensive to some people even not supporting absolute FoE, etc. In SM context, starting a HashTag trend against a person who has taken a non-PC stance on an issue. It works both ways, like disliking a youtube video, downrating an App. Recently Leftwingers started a BanAmul campaign because Amul was sponsoring a TV program in Sudarshan TV which highlighted UPSCJihad, are all examples of Cancel Culture. Burning of Books in Spanish inquisition, or during Nazi movement is another example of Cancel Culture. It is a Fascist idea.

More questions :--D What is FoE? Also you say cancel culture is a communist idea and later on you say its a fascist idea. Are you saying it happens in extermeties of left and right. Censoring books etc is a marxist idea. I don't know if its a fascist idea.

As far as Germany is concerned, the hitler folks never called themselves nazis. It was national socialism. national socialism movement borrowed extensively from the vedas and had great respect for the ancient Indian culture. They put the svastika on their flag because of it. not the same as neo-nazi skinheads of today. nazi was a jewish term for the german country bumpkins. Its yiddish (german hebrew combined) and possibly hebrew

Coming back to this forum, would you say banning threads that are controversial or not up to their taste but within the rules of the forum is cancel culture. And fighting for angelina jolie and other trannies even though these people don't know any of the hollywood celebs is an example for "woke". Those people who say I need help because I don't know the trouble a tranny goes through is an example of superficial morality i.e virtue signalling I would presume.

I need to be upto speed. When I last checked the left vs right debate which was about a decade ago, it was called social justice warriors and that was it.  its demoralizing to watch these people fight and accomplish nothing so I stopped watching them and am now SM-free

FoE - Freedom of Expression which is available only for SJWs and not extended to RWers.  With FoE one can wish death to Modi, Shah or Trump. But you will be banned from Twitter if you say anything against Muslims, Dalits or Intellectuals. 
 

Regarding Cancel culture, I believe it is becoming popular tool by the left to mute voices, ban people from public space if they don’t like what they hear through SM campaign. I shouldn’t have brought in burning of books, but it is kind of figuratively. My view of communism when it reaches extreme implementation like Stalin will turn fascist with extreme power in the hands of a few people in the party.

Influenza isn't normal sardi khansi. It's much more than that.
