How did crappy Lanka beat england

I didn’t see that match but for god’s sake looking at how Lanka batted today , it looked like the throwback Lanka team of the 80s . Rudderless , some good shots , talent there and then some potbellies . 

 

They threw the World Cup open how ? England should hang itself for loosing to Lanka . I don’t want pak to qualify but boy o boy anybody who looses to this Lanka side cannot be in semi final of World Cup

That's a great question Mani, and I thank you for asking it, it's the last thing I think of when sleeping and the first thing when I awaken, from what I can gather I think it's a sub continent thing, I think England have similar issues, you win WCs when WCs are on, not before, not after, Australia were written off by most and all it did was awaken the sleeping giant and now it looks like winning yet another WC.

England's arrogance defeated England.. 

 

I thought Morgan got a stable mind and brain.. but the way he responded after Lanka and Australia matches was really surprising.. His ego is saying this is how we are going to play no matter what.. his No. 4 position plays vital role in the game but when you know couple of wickets have fallen really cheaply.. as a caption, you would think of settling down first before attacking but no.. he wanted to stick with his game... he threw away his wicket to Starc when Starc was in fiery mood.. IMO, they deserve to get kicked out of tournament.. Bangladesh deserves to be in Semis if they beat Pak.. Losing to Lanka in spin friendly wicket is one thing but losing to Malinga in Uk while chasing below par score is unforgivable..

Morgan is Irish. No Irish would want England to win a World Cup. English should have made Root Captain in all formats and sent Morgan back to Ireland especially now that they have so much batting talent.

True but a crappy side like Lanka - the Bangla sides have been competing decently since many years . This Lanka team is worse than any in its history . Even gurusinghe back in 80s batted better than any of these batsmen . It’s the worse side in Asia rt now

Not really.. They beat India 3-2 and Pakistan 5-0 (?) prior to WC.. The good thing is Finch was struggling in India series but found form in Pak series and was unstoppable since then..

That bang side were minnows then ......and that aussie side was a giant who use to treat good sides likle minnows

Eng vs SL was not that big a mistmatch as that aus vs bag was

 

Even if SL is bad side they have match winners and any team can have an off day. SL defeated us in Ct 2017, Pak defeated us in final of CT so such things happen a lot.
