Don't underestimate the threat of Lyon & Australian "spin" in this World Cup!

He is the world's second best finger spinner, behind Jadeja IMO, & shouldn't be discounted just because we play "spin" better or he's not a regular in LO for many years. However as the series in Ind showed, on spinning tracks he's just as lethal as any other bowler we have!

This is new age myth that India plays spin better .On a spinning track ,we are as clueless like any other team.

We have gifted wickets to Lyon and Zampa in the past. Indians used to be the best at playing spin when there was Sehwag, Gambhir, etc in the side.

We generally do play spin better, but unlike in the past when our batting greats used to sweep or go down the track to disrupt the line/length of bowlers - we have absolutely no one to do that today. That seems to be the biggest difference IMO, it's accentuated in LO as most of our superstars are effin sacred of getting stumped

Australia have recognized the fact that expecting 30 decent overs from Zampa, Coulternile, Maxwell and Stoinis can't work.  They have added Behrendorff and Lyon.   They will be a better XI than the one we scraped past a couple of weeks ago.

And we don't have Dhawan.  India need to consider benching Shankar, inducting Pant.  Its never been more obvious.

Australia will always be the team to beat in WC. They seem to have a plan, to peak at the right time and generally tend to give their best from this stage onwards. Once they are on a roll, they are hard to stop.

Only way to win against Australia is to have balance of firepower + accumulators

We won't face Australia until the finals and that is if both teams manage to win their respective semis. 3 spots are almost clarified. We are facing either NZ or Pakistan/England. Australia are looking a very dangerous side but I'd rather we focus on England first. One game at a time.

With Starc in such a good form and also reversing the ball, along w/ support from Behrendorff and Cummins,  Aus would be happy anyways :dontknow:

If Ind & Aus meet again,Aus are strong favourites. The main difference is 2-3 of their batsmen can bowl.Maxwell,Stoinis can bowl full 10 overs on any day.The team looks much balanced now.

We have the right balance now IMO, the only possible change would be Stoinis but he's doing his job with the ball, a few more runs would be nice though.

India are the only team that worries me, I'd be more than happy for them to get knocked out in the semi's.
