Thats Stumps on Day 1, India ahead

  • Take 30+ minutes to bowl to assess conditions. Plus some sources predict rain at 11.
  • Preserve, preserve, preserve wickets. 20-0 after 10 is fine.
  • Just don't attack Boult. And, play Grandhomme cautiously if swing is about.
  • Some reports speak of cracking pitch, but NZ have four seamers. Target Neesham.
  • We did well against Lockie, but again caution first, as he has had a good WC.
  • Best of all, raindance, and let the whole farce be washed out, and pack bags to Lords.

it will not be a washout.

india have an advantage that they are playing a long batting line up with jadeja and Bhuvi inclusion, we bat till no.9

just wait for the miserable effing english weather to do its job. if we win the SF and F by washout, it will probably be one of those times where I will curse and thank the weather in equal measure.

That would be a lame way of winning a World Cup.

the whole WC has been kind of lame to be fair. games getting rained out, mostly one-sided matches, etc.

If Final is washed out beyond yhe reserve day, the cup is shared. So, no.

I thought that the group topper would win it, just as how the SF is chosen in the event of wash-out.

Everyone is saying, start slow. That might turn out to be bad advice if it rains after India is 20/0 in 10 overs and we only have another 10 overs to score a 100 runs after the rain

If the final gets rained out, the cup will be shared by both finalists.

Not for the final

I see. In that event, it's better if we get to play the match (assuming of course we make it there).

Washout in finals mean shared trophy.

how many reserve days are for final. 1 or 2. They used to have 2 days earlier.

It is a bright full sunny day expected in London for finals...

So, no need to fear of rain or reserve days or whatever if we do make there.... We will play a good 50 over match and see if we win or not!
