"The first half, we were very, very good. We got what we needed at that point. We thought we had restricted New Zealand to a chaseable score but the way they came out with the ball was what made the difference. The game pretty much changed in those first 40 minutes when we were batting," Virat Kohli conceded at the post-match presentation ceremony in Manchester.

"They really put up a great display on how to bowl with the new ball. They forced us to make errors. Pressure created was immense. I think for the first 7 or 8 overs we didn't get a ball to drive. That shows the kind of control they had.

They didnt force him to make errors. It seems pressure got to him. Check the NZ batting. They didnt score too many runs in the first 7 overs either but they played the ball on merit and saved their wickets. Rohit got out to a good ball. Kohli could have played straighter and KLR should have left the ball. KLR has a habit of choking under pressure and so is Kohli in ICC tournaments. At least, he owned up to it

He's a fool of an idiot! HE was the one who never allowed anyone settle at #4 and talking as if India is made up of only 2 batsmen. What if the first 3 batsmen went out cheaply? Is there no other batsmen to follow? Why not play with 8 bowlers you idiot. This fcking entitled brat needs to go. Play as a batsman with mouth shut or just * off from Indian cricket needs to be the message for him.

Excuses. You have been getting out to left armers for 7 years now in similar fashion. Boult has destroyed out top order 4 times in the last 6 months including the warm up game and we refuse to make changes. You reap what you sow.

It's embarrassing how the supposedly best batsman can't negotiate 2 overs of left arm swing to save his life. Rat's technique is plain embarrassing. Only his game when pressure is on is worse than his technique.

That's why they need to stop telling everyone that they treat every game as just another game.  They need to embrace that it is a knockout or a final, and prepare themselves accordingly.  What pressure?  Top 3 couldn't play more than 5-6 deliveries.  It was pure lack of preparation, tactics, and execution.  Everyone knew what was expected in these conditions and it's not this is the first time they cracked like this. Everything is set to premade template, there's no room for adaption and  to evolve according to spontaneous feedback.  Being ranked the #1 ODI team for several years doesn't count for jack if you can't bring home the cup and continue to fail in similar ways.

I for once wish, that arrogant cocky brat visit ICF once and see how much love we have for him, only then he might realize what people other than his PR imbued clowns and Twitterattis really think of him.
