zen Posted July 15, 2019 Posted July 15, 2019 (edited) I have written about how Eng changed its ODI strategy and brand after 2015. The focus here is on what happened during the WC as the team needed to win 4 games in a row against tough opponents to win the title. Morgan did exceptionally well to channelize the energy to deliver match-winning performances. It was Bairstow who stood up against Ind and NZ in the virtual KO games. Bowlers and Roy took the mantle in the SF, while Stokes and Buttler raised their hand in the final. To deliver such a team effort, Captain Morgan deserves the credit. In sports, many times, you are trying to shoot a moving target. It is like driving a car for e.g. where you could be in your lane but someone slips in forcing you to brake, and where you have to constantly make adjustments not just based on where you are going, but also how others interact with you. This is where Morgan was good too. Eng went back to the drawing board and came back motivated to come out all cylinders firing! Edited August 30, 2020 by zen
mishra Posted July 15, 2019 Posted July 15, 2019 Sole reason why England whiteball cricket has change so much. He told English fans. Aim higher. Cricket is more than just taking turns to Ashes
WC2011INDIA Posted July 15, 2019 Posted July 15, 2019 Andrew Strauss initiated it and Morgan ran away with it. Both were instrumental to where England is today.
Cricketphile Posted July 15, 2019 Posted July 15, 2019 (Along with MS Dhoni, Yuvraj, Gambhir, Harbhajan and Sreesanth), Morgan is the only player in cricket history to be part of a T20 and World Cup final winning Xi. He is a great white ball player. Also would have won the 2016 world t20 were it not for a freak brathwaite innings nevada 1

We could have developed a lot more youngsters (whereas Ind’s captain & vice captain occupy top slots even in bilaterals without attempting to groom youngsters relatively speaking) Edited August 30, 2020 by zen nevada 1

Vickydev Posted August 30, 2020 Posted August 30, 2020 Incredibly fast hands and superb timer of the ball. Iam in absolute awe of this man's hitting prowess
Lone Wolf Posted August 30, 2020 Posted August 30, 2020 Hard hitting left hander. If he was Indian we would have even played him tests lol. I hope in KKR Nitish Rana learns from him. He has the ability to emulate Morgan.
