People who doubt kohli's batting skills are idiot. He needs to get some action in big odi knock outs and needs to improve his captaincy skills. that said, captaincy is 90% luck and a captain is as good as his team. There is no doubt on his batting skill and temperament. He has a limited set of strokes but he utilises them to perfection and knows where his off stump is. Which is not true for most of the india batsmen now.

Hope rahane gets a 100 here. Our test team could do with some stability at 3,4,5. This was our biggest strength in 2000s. Even sourav, who is the lesser of the fab 5, never got his avg dropped below 40. A stable hand at 5/6. This is what's required in test matches. Not some mix and match allrounders or half baked odi to test players.

Kohli batting skill shud never be doubted

he fails in KO fair enough but u can pin point problem with every batsman in some way or other.

he shud get a 100 to get back his confidence but for stability in Middle order he needs to be consistent.....which has been an issue with. He is a quality player but about time he moves to next level

His inconsistency and slump are not easy to understand.  Makes one think whether he's already started his decline past his prime?  Hope not.

Inconsistency becoz his best comes at overseas in toughest condition so scoring their regulalry isnt that easy . Virat has been consistent but that guy is freak.

 

His slump was coz we played 2 years at home his weakest aspect coz he struggles against spin. Like it use to happen with earlier players they use to balance their bad overseas avg with home series, with rahane it was opp but in those 2 years overseas series didnt come much . When overseas cycle started he was already low on runs and confidence, in SA he was dropped which didnt help his confidence. 

 

I doubt any batsman can decline in such age.......i still feel his prime is yet to come . Team has kept faith in him....high time he pays it . Good thing for him is next series is against SA at home which is his Fav team.....Hopefully he ll get in flow

Not a great fan of Vihari, slightly dodgy against short ball, quite a few edges.

If you were going to play 6 batsmen, surely Rohit Sharma was a better bet otherwise why pick him in squad.
