TM just persisted with him because we hadn't unearthed shaw and agarwal by then, and because dhawan and vijay were doing even more badly. now, there are plenty of backups such as gill (who can double as middle order bat), panchal and easwaran. Rahul is lucky that TM stuck with me and Shaw got injured at the wrong time.Gill has not yet made it. Link to comment

Rohit Sharma has first class average over 50 batting in India. He cannot do worse than the players tried i.e Dhawan, Vijay, KL and Agarwal. He is in Peak of his career. New ball does not move that much in India. Option atl east needs to be tried once to see the outcome. No harm in trying. Link to comment
Prabhdeep Singh
Rohit does not get the privileges the other batsmen get. Always been in and out of the side. Link to comment

SecondSlip
KL Rahul should be sent back to ranji trophy for a while. Its time to give Abhimanyu Easwaran a go against South Africa. Link to comment

You need to deserve a place in the team on merit to be captain first. He was walking wicket thruout that series, Imran Khan even recalled him once after umpire gave him out , only for him to get out next ball again. Prabhdeep Singh
If Rohit Sharma is no good, why is being picked in Test Format. Former players who have backed him recently to be part of test team. They all can't have hidden agendas. S Ganguly V Sehwag M Azharuddin S Gavaskar S Akhtar As with all walks of life, people can improve and get better. Also watching cricket should be entertaining. Current Indian batting line is far from entertaining. Currently India has 300 plus lead but they are just blocking balls. PS, I am Rohit Sharma fan so maybe a bit of bias. But I believe he does of the skills to be a good batsmen in Test Cricket Link to comment
