T20: Ind vs Rest of Asia

Was wondering how competitive a 5 match series would be. Below is the India 11:

KL

Rohit/Shaw/Gill/....

Pandya

Kohli

Iyer

Pant

Wildcard AR: Abdul Samad (debut)/Sundar/Dubey/Krunal/....

Spinner: Chahal/Kuldeep/....

Bhuvi/Chahar/....

Saini

Bumrah

Batting order above can be flexible. What would be the Rest of Asia 11 (AFG, BD, PAK and SL) be?

Should be Pak vs rest of Aisa since Pak is the number 1 team

why do u want more embarrassment pak just got mauled by SL-B team now u want players from India and even Afghanistan who has rashid n nabi

Will be a good match but Indian bowling is a notch better with Bumrah, Saini, Shami, Chahar. Batting wise also India is better if they select their 11 properly. The rest of Asia will have better all-rounders and lower order hitting though.

Rest of Asia XI                             India XI

Gunathilaka          <              KL Rahul

Babar Azam         <               Rohit Sharma

Kusal Perera           <              Virat Kohli

Mushfiq Ur Rahim   >           Rishabh Pant

Bhanuka Rajapaksa  <        Shreyas Iyer

Mohammed Nabi     >         Hardik Pandya

Imad Wasim             =         Washington

Rashid Khan             =           Kuldeep

Mohammed Amir     >     Thakur/Bhu/DC

Lasith Malinga         <       Bumrah

Mustafizur Rahman  =     Navdeep Saini

India is still a much stronger team. Would be 4-1 with a fluke win for ROA XI. :top:

Rashid Khan > Kuldeep ..

Turning out to be a good lower order hitter

I will put Rashi Khan ahead of Kuldeep because of his batting and fielding abilities. Also Babar's numbers are pretty good in T20 and at par with Rohit. This is not discounting the destruction Rohit can do in the end but Babar has been very consistent throughout at a very decent strike rate.

Amir is definitely better than Thakur in terms of economy, but under favourable seaming conditions Bhuvu and DC are as threatful as Amir. I will actually go for Shami or Umesh of playing a 3 rd seamer or won't mind playing another batsman who can tonk. Shivam is a good candidate there as he can also bowl an over here and there along with Hardik.

Umesh in t20 ?

Umesh is a classic case of what could have been had he applied himself a bit. But purely from a 3rd seamer standpoint, I just don't have enough confidence in Shardul. You can call me biased. But if it is slight seaming condition I will like to see Bhuvi or DC and if it is dry the Shami or Umesh. Umesh is not going to be before Shami but any day before Shardul. In fact in Australia , given the bounce and pace even if the pitch is flat my pecking order will be Shami, Umesh, DC, Bhuvi.

--As of current form Bumrah and Saini just locks the first two fast bowling options

--Considerations are for T20 only

--Not taken into account Prasidh, Mavi or other Young guns who may build a solid case by end of IPL

Bhuvi n dc have done well in dry condition in ipl only

Umesh in any condition have been poor in LOI, shardul atleast doesnt leak runs like umesh despite being avg.

Umesh problem is inconsistency be it any pitch if u cant bowl acc to field it doesnt matter

I agree on the lack of consistency part but just feel he has been slightly better in last 1 year. DC may not be that effective in flat and fast pitches of Australia. Bhuvi can adapt but can get tonked as well, but more importantly his fitness issues has been more frequent. Hence Shami and Umesh will be under consideration and won't be surprised if one of them gets picked. I think this years IPL performance may play a big factor in those decisions.

Better ?? where in test cricket ?

He was always very good in test played in India coz of SG ball....always

under light it always swings for a while and chahar has good amount of variations which is veyr important in t20

there are tons of better option then umesh in t20- prasidh, rajpoot, mavi, saini, shardul, khaleel ...i will play a spinner over umesh

Don't think Shardul and Khaleel will be better options than Umesh atleast in Australia. In UAE maybe.

Not ruling out Prasidh, Mavi or anybody else. A good IPL may certainly get one of them in.

Think the squad will include 4 pace options plus Hardik(if he is not injured ). Bumrah and Saini looks to be frontrunners for the first two slot. From a variation standpoint one of DC or Bhuvi will get in. For the 4th slot the fight is going to be intense .

Also the movement that you referred to is with pink ball. There is not much history of white ball movement under lights in Aus unless the weather is moist and windy. T20s are usually played in very flat surfaces in Australia.

For T20Is in Australia  ----

1.  We need to play 3 specialist pacers + Hardik. Hardik can't be the 3rd pacer. (  In fact, we need to play 3 specialist pacers in all ODIs and T20Is anywhere )

2.  This means we have to choose atleast 4 specialist pacers .... as atleast 1 back up quick is needed.

3.  No point carrying more than 1 medium paced swing bowler to Australia. We must have atleast 3 pacers with pace and bounce.

4.  Keeping the above in mind, my picks

Bumrah

Saini

Bhuvi / Chahar

Prasidh / Shami

5. Prasidh has to perform in T20Is or the IPL ... otherwise Shami goes.

6. Would keep a keen eye on Mavi and Nagarkoti, if they are fit and can perform in the IPL. Can be the 4th pacer then.

In any condition they are better umesh in t20 as umesh has no control

there is a reason umesh hasnt found success in white ball and has a record of conceding 6 RPO in odi most number of times, he has never been consistent in ipl to

no white ball always swings under light even in australia , chahar has moved white ball in indian condition under light then aussie pitches gives more pace n bounce

The stats for Khaleel and Shardul do not support that. They do not have visibly better avg or economy than Umesh in T20. Shardul is definitely a better bat than Umesh while Khaleel is a complete liability both in field and with bat. Not sure how Umesh can be discraded in comparison to Khaleel and Shardul. There is no way they are better bowlers than Umesh. Its a different thing that atleast we have 5 better bowlers than all three of them in overall quality.

stats nyways dont tell right picture a lot of times and all there sample size is very small in international t20

any lay man can tell shardul n khaleel have better control and variation then  umesh

biggest diff these 2 will improve from here and umesh didnt much for this long in his career
