@Autonomous I remember reading that (not sure when) pcb is working on creating new stadiums. Still working on it or done?

There has been too much up-down situation in pakistan recently, entire PCB management was changed by Imran Khan with sethi resigning as PCB chief post Imran's takeover as PM. Also PCB lack funds so work over new stadiums is not on as of now, current management has taken some absurd decisions (Misbah Fiasco) and lack direction.

PCB's best bet is to go for Private-Public Partnerships, it will be a wise decision to do so. Bahria Town (Owned by real estate tycoon - Malik Riaz) is in final stages of constructing Rafi Stadium, Karachi which is designed by Gerkan, Marg and Partners, it has an ICC certified design and amenities such as swimming pool, gym, cricket academy etc.

From a strategic point of view PCB's next objective should be to increase # of stadiums, currently there is a proposed stadium in Skardu which is one of the safest places in pakistan and has airport access as well as five star hotel & accomodation facilities due to it being a popular tourist destination.

Sorry, but this sounds like pipe dreams.  Based on what I have seen it seems a lot of investment and work is required to bring up the handful of Pakistani stadium up to current day standards.  Building one in "Skardu" is a long way off.

I'm pretty sure if the previous Nawaz government was there, work over new stadiums would have been atleast in pipeline within 5 years since those guys were freak with the infrastructure and developments including roads and airports, metro facilities etc.

It was during their era that this proposal was drafted.

Well, hopefully it gets back on track financially. Strong PAK team = better for cricket. 3 Test team touring is a start (regardless of their rank in test).

Because if below poverty league champs got an invite from bcci they will play in gali mohalla gutter league also.

lol if you go by posts on ICF it would seem as if BCCI is depositing money into their account every month. :giggle:

BCCI being rich is good for Indian cricket as long as the money is deployed well, but gloating about the board's riches compared to other boards is tasteless and cheap.
