Then just 3 overs before the new ball, u take him off to 'save' him for new ball . Result - from 234/7, u get a momentum shift, new batsman smacks a few and feels at home. By the time u take new ball (was old one really that ineffective?? Around the world, new balls are known to be run-scoring friendly), Ur premier bowler goes for 2 fours, and then after 4 overs of pace with new ball u turn to SPIN Meanwhile, this 8th wicket partnership goes beyond 50 in a low scoring match. Chalk one more up for koach school of chicken-headed captaincy.
