Sunny used to bowl in Ranji trophy. He also used to bowl in nets to other Indian batsmen. He was given to bowl in test under Wadekar's captaincy.

 

The video above seems to be from the Rest of the World versus Aussies series.

 

Sunny, Zaheer Abbas, Rohan Kanhai, Intikhab Alam, Lloyd, Sobers, Tony Greig, Bedi all in same team playing the Aussies.

With Solkar, Abid Ali as better part timers, Sunny's dibbly dobbly bowling was  not preferred. Solkar could bowl spin as well as seamers depending on how the conditions were. Both Abid Ali and Solkar opened bowling at times in odd series. Amarnath was also a better bowler than Sunny. Salim Durani biwled medium pace. There were enough part time options unlike today.

There were only part timers and no fast bowlers.

Sunny and Solkar or Abdi Ali used to bowl in tandem in tests to wear out the ball just enough to hand it over to Bedi, Chandra and co. India has come long way from that.

His bowling as well, even remember Boycs talking about this a few years ago and Sunny was gleefully rubbing it in. 'I'll out you bloody' is a famous quote attributed to Solkar.
