England vs West Indies | 3rd Test | Manchester | Jul 24 - 28 | Match Thread

Windies should have tried that new guy with hype Kemar Holder?  On the batting front you cannot go to Eng with some third grade opener like J Campbell.. that fellow isnt simply good enough.  Decent bowling attack but zero batters

Alright then. Whole day rained off.

Forecast for tomorrow seems okay. But atleast Windies still have a chance to draw the game and series.

Showers during the day. They won't last 98 overs. If they get 50 overs maybe they could draw.

Okay then, Fifth and final day. If england win today they'll get another 40 points and will reach 226. After 3 series (360 points contested) they will be at 226 unless rain plays spoilsport. If it rains today it will indirectly help India and Australia at the top.

10.40am: West Indies need to keep their eyes on the prize today, suggests Nagraj Gollapudi, with their batsmen faced with a seriously tricky task. Phil Simmons was charitable to them in his press conference on the third evening, irritated with their lack of hundreds but cognizant of the fact conditions have been tough.

Dheeraj Ranjan: "So what time will play start, finally?" -- Several of you asking this: 11am is the scheduled start, as it always is for Tests in England. Up to 98 overs will be bowled. Final hour at 5.30pm or 83 overs, whichever comes later.

10.30am: Still dry for now is the latest weather update I can bring you. A fair few clouds around the ground with the prospect of showers at some stage, but we currently look set for an on-time start.

Michael Potts: "Can you remind me again as to why they're not starting at 10:30am this morning...!?" -- Because fans have bought their train tickets already and it's not fair to change it at such short ... wait a minute!

Sharang Dhaimad: "I am the only one who wants to see some showers in Manchester today!" -- No doubt plenty of West Indies fans were doing rain dances last night.

This is another test match which highlights the fact that test cricket has absolutely no future. Home team systematically demolishing the hapless opposition, happens way too often and England ain't that great as well.

Hopefully Pakistan competes in the upcoming series. A good bowling lineup can really expose the average English batting line-up.

England has two bowler's which have over 500 wickets. Plus Archer , Woakes and Stokes. Probably best pace bowling line up in world. Batting is also very strong.

One of the best team on pacy wickets.
