Sandeep99 Posted August 28, 2020 Posted August 28, 2020 If not for some harrowing display of cricket, Pakistan would have won this series 1-0 o rat max drew it 1-1. Let's look at few factors - 1. They won 2 out of 3 tosses 2. Selected the right team combination 3. The batsmen actually clicked - both the openers, Azam and Azhar Ali 4. They arrived at least 2 months before the first test and were well prepared by playing multiple practice matches Indian bowling is at a different pedestal compared to Pakistan but surprisingly our batsmen were poor apart from Lolli. I fully expect us to repeat same old mistakes and wonder what could've been AGAIN. Adi_91, Lone Wolf and Stan AF 3

Apart from one bad session Pakistan were ahead in the game in 1st test. Inexperienced bowling line up as well. Meanwhile if it was lolli & Shastri they would've made this as 2nd best Indian performance overseas. Gavaskar & VVS would be showering praises How Good is this team Glad that eng won that first match or else Pakistani would be hyping like rain snatched 3-0 victory from them. Stan AF 1

Play the ball late & score majority of runs square of the wicket & not in the V. Play square cuts, square drives. Kohli doesn't play square cuts but he found a way to score there. Mayank is one guy who plays late & scores runs square of the wicket as well so he may succeed. Prithvi plays square cut pretty well but needs to keep full blooded drives away at the start. Gill can work too as he would not let spinners settle unlike Rahane. Pant is good as well. Need a counterattacking player & a lefti. My Top 5 Mayank Shaw Pujara (even if he fails in Australia I'll give him one more shot) Kohli Gill Pant This top 5 has potential to do wonders if we plan well. Also Rahul at no 6 may not be bad too
kubrickian Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 Pakistani cricketers play country cricket on a regular basis in England and that's why they do relatively well in England compared to their performances in other countries. Check their stats in Australia and SA. For instance, they havent won a test match in Australia for over 25 years.
Vilander Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 Pakistan have been very good in England.. Deserve praise. Its because of their fast bowling and fearless batting.. Unlike the city based indian team that has many midgets that are weak in mind and body hope Indians improve.. Norman 1
rollingstoned Posted August 30, 2020 Posted August 30, 2020 nah our last tour wasn't as bad as it looked. i thought personally 2014 was worse when Kohli kept getting dismissed by anderson. Even that series would have been a win for us if it was just a 2 test series. Sam curran decided games when they were quite close and we missed our best bowler in those conditions due to our own stupidity. Pakistan otoh have looked unthreatening with the ball despite everything going their way that first test.
