Khaleel is much more of a natural quick than Avesh but needs to get his thinking thought process right.

That is what I want to see.

Often, youngsters get misled in the early stages of their careers ... but the good ones come back.

I want Khaleel to think and bowl like a quick bowler again. Hit the deck hard for bounce. He did bowl some quicker spells after his drop in pace.

Let's see.

This guy is probably the quickest Indian bowler I have seen, is sitting at home. Shame on these IPL teams scouts.

who is he

Seems like we are going back to 2005-6 era where youngsters came with promise and pace but lost their way due to injuries and loss of pace

It only changed when Umesh and Aaron came into the scene, despite going for runs they proved everyone wrong that Indians can't bowl express and sustain pace,it all changed since then but unfortunately youngsters taking wrong advice these days of not working hard

Hope it doesn't happens yet again, they need to work extremely hard on fitness and retain their pace which is as precious as fitness

Kuldeep Sen is bowling some sharp and accurate yorkers here.

It is strange that he is not part of any IPL team. Too much stress is put on U19 WC candidates and the others often take too long to get noticed.

T20 is a bane for fast bowlers. It makes them fall into bad habits while trying to bowl different variations. They tend to forget their strengths which brought them into the team.

Dhoni was saying today that for pacers, it is better to stick to a good line and length instead of trying too many variations. He said that there has to be consistency in line, length and pace.

I agree.

Saini is a case in point. In the first match he  bowled quick and targeted the top of off stump, punctuated by some bouncers. Got 2 for 25.  He tried too many slower balls and variation in the 2nd match and gave away 38 runs without a wicket.

Slower balls and cutters should be used as surprise variation deliveries and not as stock balls, even more so if a pacer is a proper quick.

A bowler needs to stick to his strength most of the time.

Gaurav Yadav will be 29 in a month. Needs to be given chances sooner rather than later.

IPL is the best platform for such players.

Slower ones ne hi toh Khaleel ko zaleel kiya,he was much better when he used his good pace as stock deliveries suddenly he forgot that he was a pacer once  and behaved like a trundler his whole body language changed

I thought we have been working hard with our kids on their fitness ,training regime but this IPL has shown that there are still many guys who looked extremely unfit maybe due to current circumstances but that's not an excuse for professional cricketers like these

Pant,Shaw,Avesh all looked chubby out of shape, even Pakistanis have started taking this thing seriously

Chill Bro, it's only avesh and he never had natural pace he used to force pace . Fitness was also a question mark.

No we are not going back to 2005 back than we had limited options but now we have tones of options available  with potential ATG if we manage them well.

I have tagged you in chit chat section for some reason, don't ignore :p:

Avesh is a power bowler. He needs to see the gym as much as possible. Improve his fitness, work on his body strength.
