SecondSlip Posted October 8, 2020 Posted October 8, 2020 What is wrong with this team? Why do they perform like minnows every season? Even Delhi has looked so good in the past 2 seasons and are probably the second best team currently after MI. We love to troll RCB but even they have qualified for the top 4 many times in the past. Forget DC or RCB, even temporary franchises like RPSG and GL have qualified for the knockouts. In fact, RPSG lost the 2017 final to MI by only 1 run. I really wanted KXIP to do well this season because KL Rahul is their captain and I still believe that there is a future India captain in him. But this performance has been beyond pathetic. They have won only 1 game so far and nobody including the team itself have any idea when the next win will come and where it will come from!

Since 2008, they've managed to qualify only once and that was 2014, since then they've been at the bottom half of the table all the time.

Cricket shud be left to cricketers , they dont tell you how to run business so dnt tell how to play cricket. Kings XI is a hopeless brand with a hopeless team which has yet to create a dream team ( apart from 1 fluke year) to lead them to a final. If BCCI want to make the league more competitive and incentivise good results they need two tiers of 6 teams each with promotion/relegation at stake, othwerise franchise owners will be happy with being mediocre. The way its going i see the team becoming defunct and the franchise moving to a different city. Vk1 1

Fans want to see an evenly matched IPL where all 8 teams can defeat each other. We don’t want useless minnows who are ready to give free points to their opponents! Vk1 and nevada 2

Basically they have always lacked a core team. i.e., two or three Indian and two foreign players who are always with their team. Their auction strategies always lack vision. Captaincy is everything in T20s.. they have never understood that.

People with no real experience as captain at international level and almost all of them are self centred players in their own way with no leadership skills. Curious how somebody thought M Vijay can be a captain in 2016 when he was already well past his prime. So you pick a player who is not good enough as a batsman alone and make him a captain with no history of leading sides?

He should be accountable though along with the coaches for the shambolic performance that we are seeing form the team. Some of the players he picked are his buddies like Agarwal, Gowtham. Seems like he had a say in auctions. Kumble is also from same state. The management picked the known buddies, but it isn't working.

Rahul Mayank Pooran Karun Prabhsimran Mandeep Mujeeb Jordan Bishnoi Shami Cottrell This XI can give likes of RCB, CSK, RR quite a run. They need to back the Indian batsman & stack up the overseas bowling options.
