Fielding has been India’s biggest problem in these overseas tours even overtaking  batting as India’s biggest issue. Let’s see what Sridhar “better than Jonty” has done differently this time.

 

Let’s track all the drop catches and fumbles along with any impressive efforts or amazing catches.
 

Let us see if there has been significant improvement in areas of slip catching etc or if it is the same old story.

With Kohli missing due to baby, and Dhawan missing due to sucking in tests, we are almost guaranteed an upgrade.

our slip catching should be better this time, especially in last 3 tests

Let’s not forget the fielding standards in IPL especially from the Indian continent has been below par. Sure there were some good fielding efforts like saving a 6 etc but catching and ground fielding was pretty mediocre this IPL.

2 dropped catches and some poor fumbles in the 1st odi

How Sridhar keeps his job is beyond me, 6 years is enough time to conclude he is an inept coach.

Dhawan - Drops Smith...... proves costly.

Chahal - Drops FInch... Finch adds some runs later.

Pandya - Drops Maxwell... proves costly. Maxwell plays a cameo.

Too many dropped catches but worse was some poor ground fielding

In the highlights package itself I saw 3 dropped catches and a misfield  

 

Good catches by Pandya and Samson though. These guys have ruined Pandey who is dropping dollies now
