Dead rubber - I am losing my mind

As much as I want to take away some positives from this last match, I am just unable to.  I want to say

 

"India won - broke a long losing streak.  Celebrate!"

"Smith failed."  

"Maybe I misjudged Thakur and he really has something to offer the team."

"Maybe Jadeja has really matured into a finisher and adds real value."

 

But the devil on the other shoulder is like "Yeah sure, but the Ozzies weren't playing at full intensity, so a 13-run win and everything else that goes with it is nothing to celebrate.  Your team still sucks!"  Someone talk me out of this.

Smith was unlucky, didn't really "fail".

 

Thakur is a limited player who is more likely to get spanked and demolished than be effective, on any given day.

 

Jadeja is not a "Finisher", unless you mean finishing chances to win most games with bat in hand.  

 

This win means nothing other than helps the team's mental vibe, which is not the worst thing.  So go ahead, pour one out.

If they win people  like they had done in past people dismiss it as nothing special.This series has not shown anything new other than Pandya and Jadeja scoring some runs. Kohli's form is big concern, is it start of his slide from the top.India does not have fire power to match any big hitting teams.
