Cricket does not need fielders

In the season of dumb threads: Cricket does not need fielders

 

Think about it in this way -> What is the purpose of fielders? To take catches, create run outs and stop runs. I challenge you to find one game where the opposition has not scored runs. If teams are scoring runs w/ fielders dropping catches and missing/not creating runout, they have failed. This fact highlights that with or without fielders teams continue to score runs, rendering fielders useless. Therefore, it is safe to say that cricket does not need fielders (only ball fetchers).

BTW if anyone remeber the genius that has created original thread have defended parthiv patel keeping saying it wasnt his mistake on Sa tour and also thigh slapper dropped catches in 1st test in SA

ICC, please take note:

 

• No sportsman can do two or more things 
• A cricketer has only 8 hours per day so needs to focus on one thing
• Data shows that despite fielders, teams score runs (in fact no team in the history of cricket has been on zero)
• Therefore, to improve cricket and allow players to either do batting or bowling, cricket does not need fielders (most useless role in cricket) 
• That is ICF's strong stand
