Gollum Posted December 18, 2020 Posted December 18, 2020 (edited) Awesome bowling, we might never see such bowling figures in ODI again. All 60 deliveries in the above 5 min long video. You guys remember this match? India 100 ao after electing to bat first, Aus won by 5 wickets, venue: SCG LINK Edited December 18, 2020 by Gollum
Gollum Posted December 18, 2020 Author Posted December 18, 2020 (edited) CA YT channel is gold, awesome fan service . They even scan the comments section and take recommendations for uploading videos from the past, wonderful effort by those folks. Aussies are genuine sports lovers, you can tell from the work they put in whilst organizing events and providing services to fans, even the Australian Open website is a cut above the rest. Other boards (esp the world's richest one) have so much catching up to do. Edited December 18, 2020 by Gollum MechEng 1
maniac Posted December 18, 2020 Posted December 18, 2020 Great defensive spell @rkt.india Cricketics, raki05, Stan AF and 1 other 4
Gollum Posted December 18, 2020 Author Posted December 18, 2020 Today's ODI superstars too would get exposed against that sort of bowling, main reason I don't take modern ODI batting stats too seriously. Why can't ICC restore bat-ball balance? 100 should be as rare and tough to get as a 4fer.
Gollum Posted December 19, 2020 Author Posted December 19, 2020 @MechEng perfect display of fast bowling, OP 5 min video. MechEng 1

I feel that it is easier to play seam than it is to play late swing, because you can get behind the line of the ball when it is seaming and play it on backfoot, you cannot do this in late swing because you never know when will the ball start swinging late - could be few centimeters before reaching the bat or could be when it just touches the bat. You can watch Steyn's ball to Michael Clarke in Perth 2012, Hazlewood was literally bowling that Steyn style delivery every ball yesterday Edited December 20, 2020 by MechEng
Ajju Posted December 20, 2020 Posted December 20, 2020 Remember this Match even srinath bowled one of the best spell
R!TTER Posted December 20, 2020 Posted December 20, 2020 The pitch wasn't easy that's why, it was Perth - the faster variety! Same happened in 2004/05 ODI tri series, if you bowl well at Perth no matter who the opposition batter is the bowl will always have an upper hand.
adi B Posted December 20, 2020 Posted December 20, 2020 I remember the match clearly like it was yesterday only , Dad took the day off to watch that horror show lol. Srinath's spell was more fiery though, had he too bowled to the Indian batsmen with Fleming and lee as support bowlers ,he would have picked a 6 fer. I thought we had a chance when we had then 50/5
