Have other top teams had humiliating innings like this of late? How did they respond?

In the last 5 years, here are some abysmal scores besides India's 36/9.

Eng 77 a.o vs WI   2019

Aus 60 a.o vs Eng  2015

SA 78 a.0 vs Ind     2015

How did the teams' management respond?  How did the board respond?  If you were Sourav Ganguly what would you do now?

If I was the current TM (RJS/Rahane/other coaches), I would make a few changes to the line-up for Test 2.  Gill in for Shaw.  Tell him he has this entire series and the Eng test series as opener so no need to worry about his place.  Pant in for Saha, give him the same assurance.  Siraj in for Shami, guaranteed at least the rest of the tour.  Rahul in for Kohli, but bats at #5.  Rahane moves to #4.  Vihari on probation - if he fails again, Rohit Sharma takes his place for the next test.  Increase catching drills.

If I was Ganguly, I would be informally interviewing other coaches right now.  As soon as the series is over, clean house.  If Kohli doesn't buy in, too bad - he can choose his priorities - Indian cricket or yes-men?  Your choice.

Find professional coaches who can get the best out of these guys without being a headmaster (i.e., no Kumble).  Maybe Mahela Jayawardene.  Or Tom Moody.  Or twist Dravid's arm.  Then, Pravin Amre as batting coach.  Mohd Kaif or some other professional as fielding coach.  And a bowling coach who is himself dedicated to fitness and can lead from the front (Zaheer Khan?).  A full-time sports psychologist.  As soon as the team returns from Australia, shake hands with RJS, Arun, Sridhar etc and send them home.  Pay them the rest of the contract amount and bid adieu.

But what if the team lights it up in the next 3 matches and wins the series.  Fun to think about :-)!!

Wasn't there a 58 all-out for England?

Yep. That's the headingley match where Ben stokes played that innings while chasing

Did you missed "after"?

I got mixed up. They collapsed for 67 at headingley in first innings. A year before that they collapsed for 58 in NZ and lost by an innings

Yeah, I didn't remember that they were all out at 67 in that Ben Stokes Headingley match in 1st inning. Hazelwood took a fi-fer there also.
