What are you talking about? He was the opener, how many runs did he score in both innings?

What are you talking about, blaming Shaw for 36 all out?How does it matter how many runs he scored. he scored zero in both innings so what , he is not the first opener nor will be last opener who has scored zero in both innings. But teams don't get all out for 36 just because opener scored duck in both innings.

India overnight were 1 wicket down .It was then they lost all those nine wickets in the first session and it has got nothing to do with Shaw .

It happens in pink ball. Pink ball is not the same as red ball. Pink ball behaves differently. Day night game makes a huge difference. Lack of experience with pink ball could have inhibited India from playing to its potential.

I think you need to re look at the role of an opener and the impact it has on the team when the opener doesnt perform. And that too, getting out without performing in both the innings!

Yes, Shaw is majorly to be blamed for the debacle in the 1st test match, he had just one job to give stability to middle order and he totally screwed it for India.

You need to understand what collapse means. When you  understand it.You will understand  why 36 all out has got nothing  with Shaw.

If we can't win the series now, it will show lack of killer instinct.

We have a better team than them ... that is proven.

We should not be happy with 1 odd test win and a series loss overseas.

This juggling regarding Shardul and Natarajan needs to stop. Just pick the original backup pacer ... Saini.

Can't believe these morons are planning to pick Shardul/Nattu who weren't even in the original squad.

What more must a player do to warrant selection? Saini was wasting his time/energy playing for India A then?

I don't think India is better side than Australia.Australia has overall better talented players. They had atrocious openers and Joe Burns selection was mind boggling.

Yes Talent wise Australia is better & have higher ceiling than most of our guys.  But we managed to punch above our weight in MCG & that says something.

I think if we plan well & be a little lucky we can win in SCG again.  Brisbane was/is always going to be uphill task.  Better teams have fallen in Gabba.  But a win at SCG..  Entire Australia will be in panic mode & some careers will end as well.  So never say never.

They have puched above their weight in both tests so far. Kohli's runout turned first test upside down.Who knows what would have happened. They need to keep playing like they have done so far and hope for the best.If you have fast bowlers Brisbane is not hard place to play.

If only the clown had checked his emotions without dragging the whole team down with him. But then it's all about him as he is the Super V

He should learn a thing or two from Rahane how he handled his run out immediately comforting Jaddu and the team went on with the same vigour

Man , it seems you have some personal animosity with that guy. He did not do any such thing  after runout .He is far better captain than Rahane ever will be.

Aus are a better side than us ,just needs to sort out their openers .

Most of these Aussie players are softies.

A bit of pressure and they will crumble.

Apart from Smith and Warner, they don't have any established batters. Smith is out of form and Warner is coming back from injury.

Their bowling attack is good but can be dismantled by applying pressure.

Our main plan should be to put them under pressure.

Our main enemy in the 3rd test can be being happy with winning the 2nd test and thinking that our job is done.

I hope you mean in aussie Condtions? Then yes. India is obviously better in India.

India isn't at full strength though.

At full strength both teams are equal even in Australia.

Wtf is this bullshit. What talunts? What talent is better than India's ? It's all bullshit.

In Australia maybe they have better players suited to the Condtions but our full strength bowling is better.

Agree.

Indian fast bowlers have outbowled Australian fast bowlers in Australia in 2018-19 and in this 2nd test.

And our pacers are clearly better in India.

Our batsmen are better in India.

In Australia the batsmen are similar.

We have 2 big batters as does Australia. ( Kohli, Pujara, Smith. Warner )

They have no one to balance Rahane.

Among the young ones ... Gill, Pant, Labu, Green ... all have good potential.

Ashwin and Lyon balance each other.

They have no one to balance Jadeja and Kuldeep.

When more than one or two batsmen from India show they can score runs there we can say India is equal to Australia talent wise in Australia.

This Indian team under Kohli is unbeatable in India against any team in a series in history. Ashwin ,Jadeja and three fast bowlers make this Indian team the greatest home team ever in history more than Aussies of  2000s or 1980 WI teams. India is simply unbeatable at home.

If we are talking about home strength, there are 3 teams worth considering 'benchmarks' in history:

Aussies from 1999 Jan to 2008 Jan [55: 45-7-3] Win% : 81% W/L: 15

Played 55 matches and only lost thrice (once to eng and twice to ind) and drew 7.  However they didn't have Warne and McGrath in first two matches they lost, which might be a reasonable excuse.

This streak was ended by India at WACA, when they defeated their full strength team at that point. After that they got beat by south africa, england, nz and india a bunch of times

Windies from 1978 Apr to 1990 Feb [33: 19-12-2] Win% : 57.5%  W/L: 8.5

Played 33 matches and lost only twice (once to eng and once to pak) and drew 12. However they didn't have Viv in the match they lost to pak, which is again a reasonable excuse. However they drew almost  a third of matches because of pitches in their era.. this might dampen the dominance record

Their streak was ended by England at Jamaica, when they defeated their full strength team. Since then england and aus defeated a bunch of times in 90s and from 2000s, its free real estate to most teams

Pakistan from 1980 Dec to 1986 Nov [27: 13-13-1] Win% : 48% W/L: 13

Played 27 matches and only lost once to Windies at Lahore which ended the streak. They have all their main players in this match, Imran/Javed/Qadir/Akram so this must be their full strength team at that point. Since then they lost to almost every test playing nation at home including Zimbabwe

However they won less than half in this period, so its not entirely dominant.

If we look at India's record since the eden garden loss to england..

India from 2012 Dec to 2017 Feb [21: 17-3-1] Win% : 80.9% W/L: 17

Only lost one match to Aussies at Pune after 20 matches undefeated.. but that was our full strength team so that streak can be considered ended there

India from 2017 Mar to Present [14: 11-3-0] Win% : 78% W/L:

Now we got a cool 14 match streak going on.. I hope it won't disturbed for another 13 matches so that we can reach 27 home matches undefeated and break Pak record. And from there, another 7 matches undefeated with full strength team can break the windies record.. breaking that Aussie record is very hard though, must have smooth transition when current gen players retire and avoid any freaky pitches like pune.. don't know if its possible to achieve.

That Pune loss really screwed up an ATG home streak for us

Bro I am going to miss jaddu and Ashwin bad. I know we have some real fast bowling stocks in our domestic system

But can we truly replace jaddu and Ashwin? I guess we would because we do produce quite a few spin all rounders however I hope these 2 last another 4 years as spinners usually last longer.
