J & J also provided phase 3 data before emergency use approval. Bharat Biotech has to do a better job than that.

My rebellious parents don't stay with me and they have some weird God complex, thinking that nothing can happen to them. It's scares the living daylights out of me. Imagine meeting your mom/dad and finding out that they have a wheezing cough. Could be nothing. Could be Covid. You never know. They've registered for the vaccine and I know I'll breathe a huge sigh of relief when they get their dosage over the next few days. sandeep 1

They shouldn't have registered for the vacc. I don't know if you are actually telling the truth or just acting like a shill for vacc companies. Yes it is a cough or nothing like you said. Does that fear of the unknown shifted your consciousness so much that you are willing to inject an unknown, untested and foreign liquid into their bodies. you are forcing your innocent parents to go for a vacc that even says in the disclaimer that it hasn't been tested to cure whatever. It may even be the virus. No its not a sign of your parents acting like God. They have more common sense than you. Its like that last D/N test match. Yeah, my parents live with me, but my dad has a "special" relationship with medicine and doctors, in that he hates them. Partly because he's afraid of needles, but partly because he's just a stubborn old man who thinks he knows better, and doesn't, even when he should. Both of them have gotten the first shot, and are scheduled for the 2nd one in a week or so, and I feel so much better. I think its an old age thing - as they get older, they struggle more with 'change', realize it, feel the sense of slowly losing 'control' over things, having to depend on others - even if its their own kids, it causes a sense of insecurity and frustration. And one of the ways they cope is by digging their heels in on issues and decisions that don't need to be made complicated. Usually - but not always, I think its also more of a male thing - older women seem to have a relatively easier time adapting to the change in circumstance. Mariyam 1

It is solid. The vaccine is safe and most of them are >80% effective. Real-world data for some of them is showing lower transmission levels, bringing the virus to a grinding halt. Caveats: (1) Nothing is 100% effective. Not the way biology works. But 80-95% is pretty darn good. (2) See (1). Vaccine is one shield, but most effective when used in combination with others: They must be advised caution (masks, physical distancing) even after taking the vaccine until there is complete control of transmission in the population (just a few more months). All the best to them!! Edited March 3, 2021 by BacktoCricaddict Khota, Mariyam and sandeep 1 2

Brings me back to my original point about PM Modi. Please tell me this is the one he took. 'Coz I am hearing stories about how Covishield (Oxford/SII) is being offered to "upper" (sic) stratum of society, but Covaxin is being offered to the indigent, giving some apprehension that it is inferior to the phoren vaccine. But the data don't support those fears. Covaxin must be the vaccine of first choice in India, if India is truly serious about Aatmanirbhar R&D and forging ahead with becoming a global Biotech leader. sandeep 1
Mariyam Posted March 3, 2021 Posted March 3, 2021 @sandeep Both my parents are in the 62-65 range and are working/ running a business. Furthermore they are plugged into the happenings of the local community and have an active social life resulting in meeting a lot of people. Hence their cavalier attitude to all this is even more worrying. They aren't really against the vaccine per se, but tend to underestimate the damage that the virus can cause. They haven't been as careful as they should have been. @BacktoCricaddict I'm sorry. That was a poor choice of words. I meant to say that I would be relieved once they are vaccinated. Didn't mean to insinuate that vaccinations in general are administered ad hoc and not based on sound science. BacktoCricaddict and sandeep 2

That these nurses and doctors were not following the rules that they themselves set. These times are often compared to a war zone. Do you think a war zone will have nurses and doctors dancing on tik tok when there are more soldiers admitted to their make shift clinics for injuries. If you by the rhetoric, this megavirus is more dangerous than these injuries and deaths during wartime since the doctors themselves don't know much about the disease at that point. There are plenty of people worldwide both young and old who can see something's not right about this whole charade. You can see in one of the video's comments section. More and more of those comments are being shut down and replaced with more vaccine-friendly ones. Why would they do that. Youtube which is a part of google, facebook and other media conglomerates are part of this as they signed some privacy act a few years ago. Also google world economic forum and bill gates who are the prime driver of this vacc propaganda. @Jimmy Cliff knows more about it sandeep and diehardpacer 1 1

I often tend to be pedantic, especially when it comes to interpretations of the word "believe/belief" as it pertains to science, hence the outburst :-).
