In Maharashtra too rural areas are hammered. But they have to ease some restrictions from June. They can continue to restrict movement. Interestingly UP never imposed lockdown.

Guj is quite an abberation among large states. Its painfully obvious but I don't want to argue this anymore as folks here are symptomatic to the crappy attitude that leaders like Modi have, it's OK to show preference to a region where the leader is from as there would be legions of admirers who will come to the leaders defence. Gujrat must be doing very well as India safeguards them. TN needs to take care of itself. This bit is obvious. As I dont want to build further on this debate this will be my last post. https://www.indiatoday.in/diu/story/covid-19-vaccination-most-indian-districts-have-covered-less-than-10-of-their-population-1798915-2021-05-05 As can be seen in the map above. Rajasthan (population more than Gujarat), Kerala and Chhatisgrah , all opposition run states have better coverage than Gujarat. Infact we can see Tamil nadu surrounded by districts which have a relatively high coverage of the vaccine, in AP Karnataka and Kerala. Its also to be noted, I am not from Gujarat. But if some people want to have a chip of victimhood on their shoulders I leave it to them. Not everything is about Modi.

Why can’t they capture true numbers ?

coffee_rules Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 ^^undercounting should not impact positivity. Mortality remains same even with undercount, means worrisome. A lot are dying. We should look at positivity in the next few days average, early signs show a dip in the curve.

Why can’t they capture true numbers ?If that were the case, I would expect the count to stay the same at the very least.Even if there's under counting, the general trend indicates a reduction in number of cases.

G_B_ Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 and re TN See Kerala and TN had elections at the same time. As much as I dont like the CPM Vijayan especially has been right on top of administration and distribution. He was the single point of contract. The problem for TN is that the AIADMK health minister Vijaybhasker was pinned to his constituency trying to defend against Senthil Balaji. He was defeated.

The cremations get filled up with even 1.1 x deaths. So, that's not a proper indicator
