Pant has gotta be the dumbest captain ever. I’ve seen this of him time n time again, he’s just mentally obtuse.
Why would u give him the last over in the first comeback match??

Anyways dint watch this match. Hopefully he gets more chances.

Also Mayank should forget slow balls for now.

Mayank Fastest balls in his comeback game after a year

151.3

149

149

149

148

148

147

147

145

Good speeds for comeback game , he needs to gain full game fitness, looked bit rusty.

Also good that he breached 150 kmph in the 1st game itself.

As this is his 1st game was expecting these kind of speeds , may be couple more 150 kmph but not that bad for a comeback game, rythm and some extra effort can bring the older pace back.

Hope he does not lose the appetite for pace

Pant also never gave Mayank 2 overs in a row from one end - maybe that was the plan but 2 overs in a row does give some rhythm.

Mayank bowled overs 7, 10, 15, 20

Couldn't watch the match, but caught the highlights, which means I mostly only saw the balls where Mayank conceded boundaries.

I don't think he bowled badly though. I thought the pace was better than expected compared to what we saw last year. He seemed to have landed the ball in the right areas too. In T20s at pace, there is always a chance that you get hit around a bit. We really need to make the boundary lines bigger. Even mishits travel. What I didn't like is the slower balls he bowled to Jaddu. I mean Jaddu is a well known struggler against good fast short pitched bowling. He should have tried that more, perhaps by going around the wicket.

Besides Mayank, I am continuing to be more and more impressed with Mohsin. I think if he can maintain fitness, he should be directly put into the Indian team. He is always economical and has this unique ability to extract a little more bounce from normal back of length balls. Both wickets he got surprised the batsmen with a little extra bounce. And bowling a maiden wicket over to Sooryavanshi...... :hail:

Indian Kirkuit fans going after Mayank and Bishop coming in his defence... State of cricketing IQ in this country really @express bowling @Suhaan @singhvivek141 there is a reason guys like Boobie Koomar, Avesh Shardul Deepak Chara used to play cricket in this country and are well respected and idolised

Thats the sad part, most of the "fans" either do watch cricket only for batting or they are hero worshipper.

Bowlers are non existent, almost like a ghost for them. Hence, any bowler whom their "hero" like, thats the right choice.

We are perhaps the only cricketing country who dont celebrate their bowlers. Srinath, Kumble..people hardly remember them. Kapil Dev is more famous for his 175* than those 5fers and 10fers which he took in his playing days.

Bumrah is the only one somehow who is able to break that barrier, and prime reason is the commentators from foreign countries, who are in awe with his tremendous skillset.

In my book Mayank Yadav is way ahead of Prasidh/harshit/prasidh/even siraj .  I may be wrong but he is very special.

He is super talented. I had serious doubts about his fitness and seeing his pace 145 to 151 K.

Just watch him in next match- he will be the best bowler and i bet on him to take a lot of wickets too. Jaddu played well to score 20 runs of his last over.

Prince has a Super yorker, and except that he is not so special as he is being talked about.

i feel that Prince is behind mayank and ASHOK ....

-he is a 130 to 145k pacer, his ceiling is 145k. He has a great yorker, but his other balls are not threatening. Once he is figured out he will be sorted.

see rabada, see archer - these guys bowl yorker , full length , bouncers - all between 137 to 155k

Mohsin khan has an exceptional line and length and gets bounce out of good length. But his pace is from 128 to 144k and only 25 % of his boiwls are around 140 in T20.

i am kind of sure that SHAMMI is fitter than MOHSIN so Mohsin is not in the race to play for INDIA.

Vyashak is very shrewd in T20..i mean he has serious control over his line n length and can increase his pace from 130 to 147k..i find him very good in t20, similiar to arshdeep.

ASHOK Sharma ( has a good slow ball too) and MAYANK( does not have a good slow ball) are most talented and they need to be supported and picked up in future t20/odi and tests.

Even Tushar Desh Pande is pretty good...

i dont like kambhoj/mukesh kumar ..he just tries to avoid the batsmen.

All other pacers like praful/brijesh/ j &K pacer/ashwani from MI and Krrish bhagat ...all are average pacers.

His USP was pace but last year played two matches where he could not cross 145 even once, was down to mid 130s. So was certainly could have lost his career.

Mayank/Ashok/Tyagi/Umran<-- All are 145+ kmph bowlers must be developed pacers with such speeds have good/extended prime

Mohsin <-- His LA angle and awkward bounce and change in pace makes him difficult to hit for 4/6 consistently, but can he 2nd pacer in the 11 ??

Prince <-- This season his pace was 135-141 kmph last season it was upto 145 kmph, not sure if there was some issue with the reading last year or there is some issues this year, but he looks quick, some of the deliveries just zips off after pitching, he has good control, does not ball that many nothing balls.

Deshpandey <-- In some ipl games he bowls 140-146 kmph but then in some game he hardly get upto 140 kmph bowling 130-139 kmph, he played 2 intnl games and bowled 130-140 kmph

Vyshak <-- He is a good #3/4 pacer but Ind does not play that many pacers plus none of Ind bowlers are able to hold the bat

Praful/brijesh/ashwini/etc..<-- they are not intnl material , they will play IPL as most of the teams wants such bowlers too, they consider them specialist

Sakib<-He has good t20 potential bowls lively pace have brains, hyper-extension, his slower one are hard to pick and even if the batters are able to pick the amount of bounce is hard to judge

He was.. folks said he won't ever get to bowl fast again.  His comebacks games post injury had his pace down to late 130's.

That may have been true 15 years ago, not now
