Couldn't agree more, more 150+ bowlers will increase competition and keep each other on their toes and not become lazy.
In longer run, it will also advertise that unless you don't have a strong secondary skill, you can't be a 130-135 kph bowler. This will motivate the future gen to bowl faster than their counterparts to stay ahead in the competition.

It will also help us in recognizing Munaf patel, Nathu Singh kinda guys early who are lazy and not 100% focussed on the cricket.

County standard this year has been rubbish...  They have prepared ultra flat surfaces this year. 

Pujara in division 2 is in god mode against some really pathetic bowling...  600/4 is being replied with 440/2..  

Division 1 isn't looking that good either.

I am sure there are quite a few 150 k pacers waiting to be unearthed from India.

 

Umran's success and the way he has received attention, means that more and more such pacers will come to the fore.

thats a very good system. thats why we are the best test side in the world for the past 5 6 years. 

 

imo players should always focus on first class and then branch out to developing skills for both t20 and tests. You need to excel in 2 formats. period. 

tests plus either you go t20 or odi. up to you. if you are able to handle the workload and pressure plus bonuses for performance then go ahead and play all three. but it isnt advised unless your body can handle it. Look what happened to kohli. he got burnt out after playing in all 3 formats. this is unnecessary. I hope odi is restricted to just world cups and no more bilaterals. i dont think bilaterals really generates much revenue. Its t20 thats more popular and makes insane amount of money along with top sides playing tests vs each other.

if umran goes on to be a good odi or test bowler, you will see loads of talents emerge. Bumrah is the one that put india on the map. Credit to him. He truly transformed india into a powerhouse of a bowling nation. Respect him for his achievements but now he should consider giving the younger gen a go in shorter formats. He should stick to tests and only t20 in WCs perhaps. He looks so disinterested in odi.

That is not a right approach. We are a big country. If you look at the teams and population, very few players can get the chance to play. Lot of players don't get that chance. Many of them can get ignored even if they are talented. IPL can bring such players to the fore. There shouldn't be any such criteria till franchise agree to it

IPL>>>Ranji Trophy in terms of talent identification.  Ranji only teaches u hard grind.  Even then not a whole lot of quality batsman are coming through.   Trundlers still reign supreme in Ranji.  

Vijay Hazare & SMAT are also better parameters to judge.  IPl is the biggest stage & players who do well here are most likely to succeed in Int'l level in all three formats.

but without playing first class. oh wait we have A tours but still ranji experience is extremely crucial. one season atleast. or 2. JUst to get to that elite tier fitness levels for bowlers. Bowling in that heat makes you potent anywhere. You get used to playing in any tough environments. 

 

Ranji 1st and then IPL and Atour for me. If you excel in ranji and have the necessary pace plus bounce. You can do well in any format.

Umesh's fitness and agility is a great example for fast bowlers. He still is fit enough to play for next 3-4 years.

Umesh can't sustain intensity in test matches these days.  Only exception was the Oval test.

He has become a full-fledged shishya of Bhuvi Bhaiya. Bowling slower ones in his first over itself, despite of the fact that pitch has some help for the pacers.

Can't understand the thought process, it was the pace which made him noticeable. He also clocked 149kph in 2018 IPL, 2019 he was injured and after that it's just downward trajectory.

I can understand if had improved his batting, but even that has now gone to dogs.
