Is Bhuvi worth the investment?

Gets injured before SENA tours where he can be useful- not available for last legs of Aus,Eng and Nzl.

Not required in home tests

Gets injured in major ICC tournaments. Luckily Sir Don and Lord Shankar saved us from embarrassment otherwise would have never forgiven him.

Cant even last through IPL where all he needs to do is bowl 4 overs, doesn’t bat and is just about adequate in the field.

Not reliable. He can continue playing IPL and get into coaching (can teach swing bowling) and maybe hindi commentary.

Time to move on. There are fitter and hungrier and probably more talented players waiting  in queue.

Investment is done in youngsters not established players who have a few years left ... if Bhuvi is in form and fit, he would be considered for a place in the squad

is he reliable? Cant have players getting injured mid game and tournament. One off can happen to anyone. When it is a pattern is it worth it?

If he gets injured, he will be replaced  ... if he is in good form, can't ignore him based on speculation

there is no speculation. What is the point of a senior when he is injured in every major tournaments and tours. Not a one-off.  Is on the wrong side of the 30’s for an athlete. Cant play him in less important games so that he can get injured for the big tournament. Better try younger, fitter and hungrier players.

Also Bhuvi isn’t a 500 wicket ATG. He is a good bowler with experience but if he isn’t reliable, he shouldn’t be given things on a platter. That’s now now great professional organizations work.

If he is injured, he won't be in the squad ... if he is not injured, he would play if he is in form, like he did v Eng

Current form should be the key consideration

No body is investing in him now.

The selectors pick him when available because he is worth it.

He does not walk in after injury rehabilitation ...he is made to play matches or has a physical test before being selected.

He is not a megastar with a huge PR company to back him to beat the system like Dhoni or Kohli. When he is done,he will be done without anyone crying for his return. So chill.
