God forbid someone disagrees with your point of view! Everyone else in India has been untouched by this pandemic. Arguing over this on social media is probably waste of both our brain cells. Stay safe. I do not have the energy to argue. If you think you are right, and I am wrong that’s what matters to you! :) bharathh 1

I do not wish this situation even on my worst enemy. :( Even if we are governed by the best leader in the world, the society is so rotten that it will give this same exact result. Making it a crusade against one man will only give emotional satisfaction at personal level in these tough times. Beyond that it does not serve any benefit. I am not singling out Modi, but the reaction of the central govt. I am sure the state govts did not help. Coupled with lack of people to follow social distancing norms. Millions will die, millions before this calms down. Also this will do what air travel did to post 911. There was pre COVID which we will never get back. This virus will become like a common flu virus which claims hundreds of thousands of lives across the world every year.

There is an article from Sky Australia claiming that the pandemic was a deliberate tactic from CCP. I hope it's a conspiracy theory only. Edited May 11, 2021 by MechEng
beetle Posted May 11, 2021 Posted May 11, 2021 (edited) All govt have failed at centre and states. All are accountable for the miserable show. Modi needs to get over his image and understand that the govt failed in the second wave and take the criticism that comes with such a failure on the chin....instead of trying to get accounts deleted or posts removed. Stop looking at the courts and media and do your effing job properly . His image is shattered and only getting a hold on the situation is going to improve it ...not people trying to cover up or pointing fingers. You are in power. You are accountable. Period. This hold true for the PM and all CMs . Edited May 11, 2021 by beetle diga, Mariyam and Cricketics 3

For Delhi,UP they need more aggressive strategy -- pool resources from the country do aggressive lockdowns and mass vaccinations, because of the huge scale. What exactly is this Maharashtra model? All these 'models' are just a lazy formulaic attempt to make people feel good about a marginally better situation in some other state. The best model is always one which ensures that there is no second/third/fourth wave. As an aggregate since the pandemic started, Maharashtra has had the most number of cases. And deaths. After averaging 700-800 fatalities a day for 40 days in the second wave, we should look for better models. Maharashtra was unable to control the outbreak of the second wave. SII being in Maharashtra is contractually obligated (IIRC) to directly provide a small part of its outlay to the state. The way it works in India is that the centre buys and provides to the states. Inspite of this, Maharashtra has been having a very difficult time conducting vaccination drives. Numbers are shockingly low. In Mumbai there are only 7 centres for the 18-45 age range. There is a lockdown in Mumbai(and Maharashtra) right now till the 15th. The number of inoculations in the last 7 days has been abysmal. What happens next? Extend the lockdown till the state can get hands on enough vaccines? What was happening for the last 10 days then? All of this is just ad hoc reaction by the state govt. A good model should be preventive and with a plan in mind. Not just a 15 day plan after a huge second wave. Edited May 11, 2021 by Mariyam beetle and Vilander 2

I hope it's a conspiracy theory only. The pandemic cannot be a conspiracy theory as we are all suffering, but it is likely that it did not originate from the wet market, but escaped from a govt lab in Wuhan. The CCP is dangerous. They could either leaked it purposefully to start a germ warfare or it escaped accidentally. They do not care that they had to incur collateral damage. Look how it has brought the world to its knees. China is the real superpower now, not USA. The suspicion gets stronger because the CCP has been very reluctant to help WHO officials get to the root cause. See how quickly they opened up the wet markets. If they thought it came from there, does it make sense not to closely regulate it? I have nothing against Chinese people and the anti Asian hate in USA is deplorable, but CCP is authoritarian and wields ultimate control.
