vvvslaxman Posted June 1, 2021 Posted June 1, 2021 Velu's thread gave me this idea of this thread. We often make fun of Indian fight scenes. Of course they deserve to be mocked at. But i am sure there are some good fight scenes as well. Let me start by sharing one. This is from movie Thupparivalan. Vishal. https://streamable.com/7v2f5r

zen Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 I feel that expecting realism in films esp. masala is unrealistic ... When in school, we used to have some kids who were like how can the hero fight 20 ppl single handedly (come on!) ... If you want a realistic fight scene, it would usually be a one to one combat (may involve weapons), a sniper taking out a few guys, etc.
zen Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 IMO, it is not really about realistic v unrealistic but brilliantly choreographed (most fight sequences from films like John Wick) v comically choreographed (That shark fight sequence on other thread was like a D film stuff)
coffee_rules Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 Not much about realism, but the execution and choreography is much better in the clips shared here. They are as good and professional as the ones anywhere in the world. Esp Tiger Shroff, Hritik, look good in action, we have come a long way beyond dishoom dishoom.
Vilander Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 I know this thread is for Indian movies. But let me leave it here for scale. Tiger khalid scene was good we will get there. There is the legendary old boy scene but I don't like how the attackers only use soft sticks.
rkt.india Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 I loved Saaho. It was criticized a lot for too many twist and turns, below par direction but I loved it. Maybe highly unrealistic but who cares. It was slick and well shot.
