Yeah off late they’re going overboard with the whole stadium thing lol..I mean they’re already planning to build the third biggest stadium in the world after already building the world’s  biggest stadium fairly recently

champions trophy was replaced with FIH. we won vs those teams. go check the results.

australia havent won a rugby union series vs n.z since 2006 at home or away. let them just stop playing and go home. quit rugby. They havent won a world cup or a champions league equivalent tournament since early 2000 either. they should just sit at home and drink VBs and chug down meat pies. Should just quit.

We have beaten nearly every single top team in last 2 years under coach Graham Reid. Beat Netherlands and Belgium in 2020 in FIH Pro league (new version of Champions Trophy). Beat Germany in a test series before pandemic (pro-league matches were postponed).

 

We are no. 4 in world now and most likely will not win a medal but it's amusing to see seasonal hockey fans going ballistic against the team.

Indian cricket is at such stage that it won't effect us in any major way. 

Cricket attracts eyeballs. Eyeballs attract marketeers. Marketeers place ads. Ads lead to sales. Sales leads to revenue. Revenue leads to sponsorship. So we cant sway away from that. There wont be any eyeballs in india to see Mens Sculls or skeet shoots..thats the issue. Jagmohan Dalmiya was a visionary. Resurrected a near bankrupt board to where it is now. We are still waiting for similar visionary in indian sports..

Absolute bonkers...  Like there is any need for that.  That's classic case of wasting invaluable resources in a developing country. 

Make some facilities that are rare & would be useful like for events like Artistic swimming & stuff.   Advanced shooting ranges..  Archery fields.  How are we able to produce quality sportsmen if we don't give them proper infrastructure?   How would have we produced quality cricketers if we didn't even had proper venues to play with? 

Simple logic eludes the folks running things in the country.

lol me bacche. haha. long list of sporting glory? why? they have funding. they have resources which we lack. You are the one talking like a toddler here. first learn what FIH is and then come back with your rebuttal. 

 

Why cant i compare australia's performance in rugby? guess what their number 1 sport is? rugby bacche. they havent won anything of not in a long time. 

Their number 2 sport is actually soccer believe it or not. 

cricket is 3 and then you have hockey etc.

 

They have a better school system for hockey. Better infrastructure, better resources hence quality performances. India have only started taking strength and conditioning for sport specific purposes seriously post 2010. So india have made strides in hockey. We shall see in the future.

you all dont get it. Dont they know we dont need stadiums. They very well know it. But if you build a stadium you spend 2000 crores and out of these 80 perc are on tenders. And these ministers give these tenders to their near and dear ones and also to the one who ll fill their pockets. Its the easiest and safest way to get rich as they even pay tax on the tender revenue they generate. Its an artificial way of creating a unwarranted need( stadium) and profiting from it. Simple
