China has has OLYMPIC training schools for several decades. China spends billions of dollars EVERY YEAR on its Olympic training schools. How can there be any comparison in results ?

China focuses on 4-5 medal rich competitions and ploughs in Billions of dollars.

Like all communist set ups this bears results - East germany has won more gold medals than the mighty US in some olympics, topping the table.

The moot point is China spends dozens of billions of dollars on global sports like soccer and basketball and still sucks at it - because Europeans and Latinos have way ore talent.

That’s not true at all. China does not have a footballing culture. It’s like saying Pakistanis are more talented than Irish or Americans because they are better than them at cricket

The hell is not forcing people into sport? How do you know US does not force people into sport and China does and even if they do why is it a bad thing? It’s sport not terrorism and US has far better facilities than China and still China was able to surpass them in 2008 Beijing

Home advantage.

Look up Olympics home advantage.

But then what does a Pakistani know about Olympic sports and winning (or even qualifying) for it?

China absolutely sucks at team sports. They are monster in indivdiual discipline due to their system where they carefully select and train them to be robots.

Swimming is a team sport too and they have won quite a few golds in that

When did swimming become a team sport. Even the swimming relays you need individual brilliance. Only waterpolo is a team sport

Home advantage? Ok then what stopped England from winning it in 2012? and Brazil in 2016? and stop your Pakistani jibes lol it doesn’t affect me at all. You can abuse Pakistan as much as you want and I don’t give a 5uck

I would not want China system implemented in India even if it was possible. Where 5 6 year olds are taken away from their parents and are grinded to the dust for a medal win.

Behind every gold medal there may be 100s of lives ruined or may be even lost. That is definitely not worth it.

Learn to not fart from your mouth. China has a massive domestic football scene. Fan following rivals IPL in India.

Salaries are 50 million dollars and above to top players. How can it be if there is no professional football culture you clown face

They take kids away from their parents at the age of 6-7 and they are only focussed on their sports from that age on. They cannot do anything else. They currently have 51k elite athletes under the age of 18 in boarding schools and 400k students of younger ages as a pipeline for the elite schools.

When Lin Dan won the Olympic medal in 2012 - he said that he didn't feel close to his family as he had lived away from them for so long. I had posted another video from the Economist on China's sports factories - where the gold medalist for Trampoline in Rio mentioned that he never had the opportunity for a childhood - but that a medal may make it all better.

You see 1% of the successes in these games. What happens to the others who get injured/mentally ill or are just not capable of following these strict regimens? Noone knows what happens to the failures and the rejects. These folks know nothing other than the sport they are curated for. What life prospects will they have after?

At least they don’t get sexually abused by the coaches as in the US or at least we don’t know about it

Both England and Brazil massively over performed compared to their usual results. And japan is doing now.

and india did in commonwealth 2010. And Indonesia in Asian games 2018.

you get to choose what sports are played (japan but in baseball after 16 years cause they are good at it), can field larger contingents because of relaxed qualification criteria/wildcards and ofc familiarity with stadiums/home support etc.

Like I said there are valid reasons for home teams over performing but then what does a Pakistani know about olympics.

if Pakistan held olympics it wouldn’t help them though cause 0 multiplied by anything is still 0

Funny thing is that when western media is reporting against India, it’s biased but when it’s reporting against China or any other Eastern country it is the most reliable source of information
