It will prolong the careers of our brittle batting in the MO.

Our batting isn't brittle. It's all about conditions.

All pacers don't do well that's why you pick 4th pacer. If one has a bad day. At least, 3 will do well. If you have 3 and one is off color, you are stuck with 2 seamers. Spinners aren't going to win you games in England.

why wont all pacers do well in such pace friendly conditions?

Spinners can win you game on 4th 5th day in England like Lyon won one last Ashes. Even guys like Yasir Shah has 1-2 such performances. And ofcourse Moeen did well last 2 series v us. Ashwin is better than all of them

Its not like spinners never do well here

Now again talk of getting in Ishant in place of Siraj and dropping Thakur for Ashwin - from Laxman. Will be interesting to see the three Bumrah, Shami and Ishant again together but I am not optimistic with these three.

They think its same Ishant ,he hasn't aged, just by naming his inclusion they still believe he will still be bowling 135+

The most disheartening thing which i saw was he operating in 120s,cannon foddar in modern times,he brings it back in, bowling at that pace won't make any difference with his style of bowling

Pujara's last ton was in 2019,same as Kohli. That includes home games.

It is brittle

You are not getting it. Jadeja is not a BNP allrounder. You are speaking language of Sanju Manju.  He is batting better than most of the batsmen in the team.

Overall Batting record - Last 2 years

Outside ASIA record last 2 years - Mayank Averages 18 and gives no confidence. He does not bring better value with ball or on the field.

No there are rules for batting , bowling and all-rounders. Sorry, Jadeja is not BNP. But he is not a batsman. He is a batting all-rounder. That means. he can compensate batting if batting team fails. Any TO/MO batsman can bat out time or score a 100. You can’t expect Jadeja to score 100s in SENA. At the most he can get 50 runs more. That will not be enough. You just can’t replace batsman with all rounders. In test cricket, you need good 4-5 bowlers. That’s. We need at least  5 batsman plus wkt keeper to be competitive

that'd normally be true but these days he inspires more confidence than our MO and Mayank's technique is all over the place

Ashwin isn't better than anyone of them. Don't go by home performance. Ashwin has consistently been disappointing whenever he was needed to deliver. He chokes every time he is expected to deliver, even on last England tour.

Regarding all fast bowlers not doing well at same time, they are humans, not machines. Human bodies don't always respond same way. It's more apt for fast bowlers.

No. We are producing dust bowls at home, minefields

I'm talking about current Ashwin. In this form hes clearly ahead. Did well in Aus and picked 4 in WTC. Thats without getting an opportunity to bowl on 4th 5th day tracks

Fitness and injuries are different things. But these conditions you'd expect them to do well. What you say doesnt happen to other pace attacks

curious to see how Axar does in overseas

Yep me too.  His bowling looks a bit better than Jaddu..  And he gets extra bounce due to his height.

If it is not overcast conditions and not expected to rain, India should restrict themselves to three pacers and play both Ashwin and Jadeja.

If it is overcast, helpful for swing bowling and there will be rain interruption too like in WTC Final, then Shardul ahead of Ashwin.

Lords test forecast is good and heard it is gonna be a better batting wicket, probably more like Day 4 of first Test. Hence, in that case play Ashwin and Jadeja both. They will be lethal in a full 5 days game.

I think Thakur is good enough to bat on good surfaces. Moreover, we won the 2014 lords match when we played 4 seamers. We played 2 spinners in the 2018 match and lost

That’s because the constant chopping and changing of openers, TO and MO, nobody got a free run long rope, one or test failures. Some “expert” says bad technique and a whispering campaign starts to drop them. We had a stable batting order under Tony than Kohli, constantly chopping and some abba Kabbalah about process in place

MO didnt get a free run?

Kohli was good till 2018 but Rahane's last SENA ton before MCG was in 2014.Pujara used to fail every other tour.

They have got as long a run they could have hoped for
