In Tests outside Asia, he is playing because he averaged 50 with the bat in the last 4 years before this tour. Otherwise, Ashwin would have played.

 

In LOIs he is not a gun bowler but plays because he can tonk a few at No.7 and bowls too. More of a general all-rounder in this format.

Thakur / D.Chahar at 8 will give a lot of depth.

But he isn't good at tonking. I always considered him a bowling alrounder in every format.

I never rated jadeja in t20..........whenever i think about him in t20 i feel like manju

I dnt think he has right skills in batting or bowling for t20. As a bowler he is easy to line up since he is very predictable and as batsman he struggles to get going from ball 1

I hve to see a lot more from him to be convinced 

 

In t20 i hve always rated Axar n krunal over him coz at least their bowling is suited in the format

which are these innings

If you notice whenever he has scored he has had overs , but at 7 u shud be good enough to hit from ball 1 even when u dnt have time left.

I made a thread on all his good innings pointing how in each innnings he had time in his hand or IPL i hve noticed if he has been coming from a good inning then at times he is in flow  but that again wnt happen since u dnt get to play a lot of innings at 7 specially in Indian team. In CSK ur batting will come coz their batting is quite inconsistent but in Indian side our top 3 bats long

He struggles v lefties but so will Axar/Krunal. Jaddu did well in NZ (his last T20I series). Batting he has improved hitting as I posted in other thread.Axar can perhaps do it better,but he cant play proper pace at all.Krunal was best option but has fallen away.Fielding also comes in consideration in T20.

 

I won't select any of them in XI though lol.

 

Shardul can be expensive but will be okay as 5th bowler,specially if Hardik bowls

No krunal isnt easy to hit for lefties also, i hve seen him control pant in beast mode

Shardul's ER in T20I is 9+. Jadeja is 7.10. Ofcourse anyone can be bashed,specially such bowlers.
