Really? He was the MoM of the CT 2013 final. Almost won the 2019 WC SF with a blazing 77(59), after being on the bench for most of that tournament. Outperformed Ashwin as an all-rounder in SENA tests.

He is perhaps one of our best big match players. Contributes in all 3 departments- batting, bowling and fielding.

He does play a good match or two every now & then, but overall if you see his LO record especially WT20 he's been sh!t & that's putting it mildly. Also talking of big matches - what about 2014 WT20 final, 2015 WC semis, 2016 WT SF against WI, CT17 final?

Firstly, he's a much improved batsmen than he was till 2017. His bowling will still be useful on these UAE pitches. And he's our best fielder by a country mile( makes our T20 squad on his fielding alone).

Secondly, he still has a better 'big match' record than the likes of Kohli, Rohit, Bumrah, etc. This team has a poor knockouts record anyway. Unfair to single out Jadeja.

Is it enough though? If you were to pick between jadeja & Thakur in WTC final who'd you pick, likewise for the WT20 games? If Thakur plays, obviously depending on the pitches as well, he should be higher up in the pecking order.

That's debatable, now the reason why I brought Jadeja is because he's an IPL great for sure but nowhere near that in crucial LO matches. Among the three you mentioned only Bumrah can be termed equally as good or better (in IPL) than his LO intl exploits.

Jadeja is least of our concern rn. There's a much bigger question mark on Pandya's and Bhuvis's form and fitness.

Also, Thakur would be replacing either Pandya or Bhuvi, not Jadeja.

Bumrah failed in 2016 WT20 SF,2017 CT final
