Should Pant be promoted up the order?

May be he can rediscover his limited over batting like Rizwan did. Rizwan didn't go after every ball. Picked the right ball to go after. Also Rizwan was amazing in picking singles and twos an area where Pant is very poor, He plays these hackish shots even in Tests out of nowhere despite a few match winning knocks.

We need an attacking opener who can go.from ball 1. Either ishan or pant will do it

It might work. Also down the order when you force him to hit every ball he loses shape and gets out. Prithvi shaw is an FTB. He would not have survived against this swing. But left handers will be a better bet against left arm seamer.

Anyone who thinks we lost bcoz of not attacking has zero cricketing iq.

It is not about attacking. It is about match up. Our right handed openers invariably fail for that incoming swinging delivery.

Then we can do this if we face pak again, otherwise no reason to remove Rohit or Rahul

Rohit and Rahul both got out while surviving not even attacking. IT was almost like they were terrified of receiving that inswinger. With his height it will be very hard.

SKY should be our number 3, not Kohli. We don't need so many anchors in the top 3. Let Kohli rebuild if needed from number 4. Pant is fine at 5, his role was to play shots from one end, gave the little momentum required.
