We are still not out of colonial mindset.

 

Though there were many explanations given by the jury, it was a particular comment by one member of the Federation of India which social media's attention. He said the film projects hatred toward the British.

Too long, could have edited out some of the brutal scenes, well acted and shot very well. Don’t know why it was considered bad for Oscars. Still better than the tripe we send. Read the article , so it a bhadralok gyaani - Indraadip Dasgupta that said it projects hatred towards British.

A historical film has every right to show things as they stood, and there is little doubt that Udham would have harboured a lot of hatred toward them for understandable reasons.
