Have you given up hopes on the Indian cricket team in ODIs and T20 events till the captain and coaching staff is changed ?

Problem is Kohli's stubborness when it comes to team selection and him sticking with players based on his whim.

Continues to select Pandya based on what he's done in the past -   But Dhawan didn't get the backing based on his past performances ?

He plays with Yuzi in RCB and know's his bowling and yet decides not to go for him for the WC

Secondly , I understand that Kohli wants to come across as mature and with no resentment against Pakistani players and treat it like a sport but he definitely tends to go overboard with his gestures after the match as well - Hugging and Jumping with Pakistan players post CT17 final loss and same seen with Loss in T20 match as well.    Dhoni speaking to players after match is understandable as Dhoni is retired and is a mentor but Kohli hugging his contemporaries post such a high intensity and emotional match makes no sense.......

You wouldn't expect Babar Azam to hug Kohli post a match a loss -  You wouldn't expect England and Aussies teams to act this way as well - I really have no idea what goes in his head

Then, Captaincy blunders of Not bowling Bumrah in the crucial time - tactics blow my mind as well.

2007 T20 world cup Rohit Sharma was played his first match in a very crucial match against SA without any experience at all and he was the highest scorer after Yuvraj's injury. Pant was a regular test keeper in 2019.There is nothing called building up for spot..Dhawan got injured so Rahul went up the order.

Raina was in team before Kohli .Kohli he became core member by 2011 and Raina was on fringes. It is not TM's fault if players don't grab their chances.

Like Ashwin's noball turned 2016 t20 semi final win into a loss.Bumrah's noball did the same in 2017, who knows what would have happened if Fakhar got out early.

Is Kohli tactically best no but I don't think his tactics played much role in defeats. But people need to stop making Kohli into a dud captain.

Ok I agree kohli is a dud captain. :phehe:

Our thinking needs a complete overhaul. We should get done with superstar culture for good. As long as that mindset prevails, Rohit-clown-dhawan-Rahul-… will keep on milking meaningless matches and continue to fail on big occasions. I’d rather have no namers like nissanka who can play well under pressure than superstars with zero aptitude for fight.

Also make it compulsory for the odi and t20 bowlers to have good hitting credentials else don’t select them. The world has moved on and we continue to play the same useless bowlers who still get smashed and can’t hold the bat to save their lives.

We need a complete overhaul of the set up else we will continue to fail in tournaments.

As long as Rohit & Kohli are in T20 side..  We need a miracle to win world titles.  Bharat Arun should go & we should get McGrath/ Gillespie as our bowling coach to teach our bowlers to bowl attacking lines & take wickets up front.  Absolute no thrill in watching Indian team in limited overs as simple as that.

Gillespie can be a very good bowling coach and looks can gel with the team, looks like a good man manager

McGrath a tough Aussie character may not be liked by some in the dressing room,

Yeah Gillespie has worked with Ishant & sorted him out 3-4 years ago.  Probably would be best pick among all.  He declined PCB's offer though..  Not sure BCCI approached him.  They want desis.

Who are those geniuses who can replace Kohli and Rohit in Indian domestic circuit. Let them first handle IPL bowlers.

Kohli in T20's is probably past his expiry date.. he may produce a odd innings or so, but I doubt he can carry on at S/R of 140+ for consecutive games. Rohit's value lies in ODI's and not in T20s.  Both can be phased out in T20s with Ishan Kishan, SKY, Gaikwad ...

Sky is already in the team and let us see how he does. IMO Kishan and Gaikwad might be play in future but as of today they are very far away from Rohit and Kohli.I doubt they will ever will be ever be players like Rohit and Kohli. Kohli and Rohit are not issue for this team. Lower middle order is the issue.

The end is near for both of them but what I have seen in IPL, I don't think anyone deserved to play over these two players.
