Afg expected to win.

Team news

Afghanistan could be inclined to leave Karim Janat out after he endured four sixes at the hands of Asif Ali on Friday. The experience of Hamid Hassan might be a tempting replacement option, but they also have left-arm seamer Fareed Ahmad should they want more variety in the line-up.

Afghanistan: (possible) 1 Hazratullah Zazai, 2 Mohammad Shahzad (wk), 3 Rahmanullah Gurbaz, 4 Najibullah Zadran, 5 Mohammad Nabi (capt), 6 Asghar Afghan, 7 Gulbadin Naib, 8 Karim Janat/Hamid Hassan/Fareed Ahmad, 9 Rashid Khan, 10 Naveen-ul-Haq, 11 Mujeeb-ur-Rahman.

Namibia have been unchanged for two games and are likely to stay that way.

Namibia: (possible) 1 Craig Williams, 2 Zane Green (wk), 3 Gerhard Erasmus (capt.), 4 David Wiese, 5 Michael van Lingen, 6 JJ Smit, 7 Jan Frylinck, 8 Pikky Ya France, 9 Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton, 10 Ruben Trumpelmann, 11 Bernard Scholtz

David Wiese v/s the Afghans.

Afghans are the heavy favorites here but Namibia is in good form and are coming to this contest with 3 wins in last 3 matches of this tournament.

This is the game for Namibia..  If they have to cause an upset in this group..  Afghans can be the one.  They were expected to beat Scots but beating Afghans here will be Nothing short of a World cup win for them.

Afghan spinners are International Class and would be too good for the Namibians. These associates can smash bowling lineups of other associates but struggle against International quality bowlers. That's the reason why Scotland were completely bamboozled by Afghans bowlers in the previous match of the Group.

Asgar Afghan has announced that the ongoing match will be his last international outing. Why would you announce retirement in the middle of the tournament when two matches  against India and NZ are yet to be played ?

Rooting for Namibia.

We'll be fukked if Afg win one of their games against us/NZ. Kohli's choke brigade is perfectly capable of bottling it even against Scotland or Namibia if it's a virtual knock out.

Even if we win today against NZ, we are perfectly capable of fukking it up against Afghans in Abu Dhabi. And even if we win against Afg, we are perfectly capable of losing to Sco/Nam on current form. Scotland has some tight spinners who can strangle our strokeless wonders in the middle overs.

The probability of IND, AFG and NZ all ending up with 3 wins would be pretty high if Namibia don't upset Afghans today. And we aren't really known for absolutely thrashing low tier sides so our NRR may end up throwing us out of the tournament.

@Lord mark my words, Afghans are going to win at least one game against India or New Zealand. Abu Dhabi is going to suit their spinners big time.

they always bat first. If dew comes they'll be toast as they depend bigtime on spinners.

Their batting is also not good enough to score 180

Abu Dhabi doesn't have much due.

And their game against NZ is in the afternoon.

If we somehow qualify & our Semi final is at Abu Dhabi potentially vs England..  Then a lot of things can go our way as well.  Captain Doofus needs to sort his playing XI & play fearless cricket.

Afghan was a good player. Now he has gone nz india will breathe easy. He was not the hyper type of batsmen. He used to pace the innings.

England's bowling looks great all of a sudden. The likes of Jordan, Mills and Rashid are very hard to deal with on these wickets. And their batting is stacked as we know. Need to bring our A-game although I agree Abu Dhabi is much more suitable for us than Dubai..
