And Kohli speaks of INTENT

The intent to TUK TUK. and this intent came through loud and clear. it pierced through the thick skulls of the batters like a tracer bullet, faster than bewda can down a keg of beer.

Loli played too many dot balls before opening his account.  If I recall, he played 4 dots before taking his first single.  Same thing he did against Poyz too.  Unacceptable in a t20.  It allows the bowlers to settle into nice rythm. (In odi, it may be ok but not in t20)  .      Forget his shitty captaincy. He does not even make it to the playing 11 as a batsman alone.  Has been out of form since ages.   To be precise, since 2019 Oct (our home test series against SA).

No they tried to play pressure release shot after dotting many and those were slogs not trying to hit boundaries. All went for wild slogs.

Yes, They all got out near the boundary rope while trying to slog.    But u are not getting the point, the OP has made.     These batsmen played way too many dot balls before getting dismissed. So, they were eventually forced to slog.  Rotating the strike by taking ones and twos would not hv worked becz of so many dot balls earlier.

Matches aren't won by taking singles but by hitting boundaries. Pitch was too slow, maneuvering the ball for singles against spin was a task. OP isn't talking about dot balls but lack of boundaries. They consistently tried to hit but weren't connecting. When they connected, it went to fielders.

the team seems caught between two mindsets. one is trying to score a mere single of each ball and picking up 10 boundaries along the way, giving you 150-160 and perhaps more if one batsman gets on a roll. the other is going hell for leather from ball one, and maintaining that aggression if wickets fall. pick a style and get comfortable with it. india look caught between the two.
