2012-2021 a failed decade for India at the world cup

For T20s, India have never been a great T20 side, just dont have the personnel for it . It was only due to the emergence of Kohli that we have been competive in the previous couple of editions, otherwise we shouldnt be anywhere near. Now that he is no longer that player, we are back to sucking at it.

India should wear the sky blue jersey or the new orange jersey. And uske saath har match ke pehle koi  mantra wagar padna chahiye toss jeetne ke liya . BCCI should hire a tantrik to improve our luck in icc matches .

Given the no. of nations playing cricket and our resources we should have won atleast 2 -3 trophy’s. Absolutely pathetic.

We had the likes of balaji, Mohit sharma, chawla, Irfan, Vinay, dinda playing in the 2012, 2014 t20 world cup, so I wouldn't say it was a failure not winning those world cups but 2017 champions trophy, 2019 world cup, recent test championship final and this t20 world cup have been huge failures, I would be honest say the losses in these important games was due 1 tactical blunders, 2 defensive mindsets and three lack of ability, recap back 2017 CT final, the moment fakhar started opening up both jadeja and Ashwin had no clue, forget spinning the ball, they could not even dart properly. Bhuvi was toothless both in CT final and 2019 semi final. Our attack in 2003 world cup was better than the one in 2019, lack of ability is the main issue, our back up bowlers this world cup were shardul, chahar and axar all average cricketers.

The bowling back in 2014 was pedestrian outside of Ashwin and not much better in 2016. We have lacked wickettakers in this format for ages, including this current side which seems to be even worse at it.

 

Post 2011, Yuvraj was a shadow of his former self and Dhoni never really was that dangerous in T20Is. We severely lacked a big hitter coming in at 5-6-7. Only Raina was one who could come in and score at a brisk pace. Lost both those KO matches in 2014-16 cause of that along with the toothless bowling. 

 

Cant think of any selection upgrades that would have made a difference.

 

So in essence we lack brisk scoring openers, big hitting lower order batsmen and wickettakers..HTF do we call ourselves T20 WC winning material??! If not for Kohli 2014-16 this team has done as it usually does..get knocked out in the GS

We have hitters and some good openers in the reserves. If we don't bloody pick the right team how do you expect us to win. Besides IPl is taking place just before WC. Ofcourse players are going to be exhausted. Foreign players don't go as hard for their franchises. They conserve their energy and not all of them play.
