Given the selectors blundered by not picking Chahal, we have no better option than Chahar.  But I don't think he is getting a game in the last match.

Load up the side with spinners if you ask me. Chahar/Ashwin/Jaddu all 3. Just use them in various stages. Ashwin inside power play. Chahar/Jaddu in middle overs.

Should have played 3 spinners right from NZ game in my opinion barring VC. Our captain as always made a mess of the selection.

You need players who will do this they may not take wickets but their contribution is very valuable.

 

Think of it simply like this:

 

If we face Pak again, would you trust Jaddu and Ashwin against Babar, Hafeez and Rizvan in powerplays? 

 

If your answer is no, then you already got the answer on why Varun is critical to the team balance.

 

Fickle fans will look at stats and talk like Jadeja is an ATG spinner when same guy got destroyed by Pak and even NZ and released all pressure with his darts.

 

Anyway, go ahead drop Varun and bring in Chahar you will see the difference in powerplay overs.

 

Ashwin got lucky with AFG, he won't get so lucky always as we saw today against Scotland.

Yes they struggled to read Jaddus bowling.

 

The pitch was gripping and they couldnt handle his test lengths.

 

Not saying Jaddu will replicate this but Scotland batsmen had some awful techniques to play Jaddu.

 

You see this happen with minnows all the time.

 

Put Mishra against minnows and he will outpeform almost every spinner.

 

Not comparing Mishra with Jaddu but everything aint about pressure.

chakra has essentially been a slow-medium bowler. reminds me more of an amarnath or a chris harris than a "spinner" (I know all 3 bowlers are different)

yes. Apt comparison. Chris harris always had this leg spin action. But a medium pacer. Even Kumble was treated like seamer after some time in the one dayers.
